Sony FAILED. No PSP2. Atleast $300 for support for 4 PS move players. Kinect will likely be $150 for however many with no stupid hardware in your hand to throw at your TV.
3DS and Kinect own. I'll upgrade to 360 slim as well!
@Niteperson Haven't there already been numerous stories about the higher system resources needed for kinect to function, which means using it to play anything remotely graphically intensive will be out of the question. They demonstrated a driving game with it yesterday that, lets be honest, looked less like gameplay and more a demonstration video
For me, Move is cheaper and looks like it will work just so much better.
YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY ... BUTTONS ALL THE WAY!! Sony ruled with their keynote & showings at E3 ... exclusives & all. I can ALMOST guarantee that next year MS will introduce some type of controller for the Kinect. There was nothing but casual games for the Kinect & a rail esque Star Wars, NOTHING compelling. Where as sony PROVED that buttons & an analog stick are necessary for many types of games, hardcore & casual. It also APPEARED more precise then what I saw from MS.
SONY BY FAR had a better keynote than MS. Nintendo close 2nd with the refreshing of popular classics. Despite a few compelling MS exclusives there was LITTLE worthy of my time. Kinect FOR NOW isn't worth my money. Move has SHOWN to me what is possible that exceeds what Nintendo can offer with more precise controls & HD gaming & the necessity of buttons for more immersion in casual & hardcore games that Kinect cannot provide yet. Plus the potential of 3D if it becomes more popular.
Yes you'll need to buy more controllers but I think the cost will be outweighed by the benefits in the near future compared to what I saw with the Kinect. For those who may have a PS Eye already you'll be spending about $160 for a PAIR of Move controllers & Analog attatchments. Just $10 more than the Kinect & I personally feel is $10 more than worth it. Even if you must buy the PS Eye with everything at $190 I PERSONALLY feel it'd be more worth it in the long run from what was shown today. ALSO ... A LOT of folk play by themselves & online (LIKE ME) so it'd only cost me $110 if I NEEDED the eye, which I don't so it'll only cost me $80, which is WELL worth it compared to the Kinect.
ALSO PlayStation Plus.. Just some exclusive content & demos & early access. NO taking away of features nothing that will have free members forced to buy in order to get the full experience of multi-player online gaming.
SONY OWNED this conference. I do appreciate some of MS exclusives & I'm a bit excited about playing some refreshed classics on the Wii, but SONY brought it ALL this E3.
@Tuan X Come on...first, you love the shift key...however...this controllers of the PS3 make no sense...why using them if you can play the same game but without holding anything (or just grab something around you if you really need to hold something in your hand)? Sony has failed and Kinect is just ahead if you talk about 3D motion tracking...it is a fact if you look at the specs of the 2 systems.
@bluefisch200 My point is you CAN'T play the same games (yes I love the SHIFT key) ... Games like SOCOM which will require button presses because the Kinect cannot read as small of a motion as a trigger pull. I personally feel Microsoft is being absent to the fact that you'll NEED buttons for certain actions. Moving through the environment being another one. There is NO way to do that PRACTICALLY in a 3D space with Kinect. I don't want to stomp my feet up and down in one place to move around with Kinect or lean side to side. Microsoft would have to create some 360 treadmill in order to accomplish full 3D motion with Kinect (and how much would that cost) that Sony will be able to simply do with an Analog Stick. It's practicality for the multitude of game types & genres. Currently, the Kinect isn't a practical option for a semi-hardcore gamer like ME.
@Tuan X i wish i could uprank you 100x. Sony killed it. Precise action is impossible with natal, all the games were fluff and the multiplayer had an awkward.... barely multiplayer thing going on. Also fit 4 people in front of that camera waving around and doing "gestures"? good luck. Sony move controllers are expensive for 4 but most games now days aren't even multiplayer unless you're online anyway. So you pay a little premium for some controllers (just like your superior console) and you have accurately tracked motion controls and you can play SERIOUS games with it. Sony continued to remind us of hardcore gaming with it, Microsoft barely mentioned it.
sorry Microsoft but your console is just too old now, and making it into that stealthbox (which is REALLY beautiful) isn't enough to save yourself.I know a lot of people switching from xbox to ps3 right now, not the other way around.
@ryan420 nope ps3 only supports up to 7 bluetooth devices and each controller is a device itself so a total of 3 people and 1 midget controller by itself lol.... you have to be able to buy those controllers first.... and seeing that all the people at sony bich about xbox live saying they cant afford it and its only 50 bucks a year not that many play station owners will be able to afford it lol.... only 3 people vs kinect 1 buy for the whole family.... no head set needed it has a built in microphone and you still need the eye toy your forgetting or you cant use move.... so you already failed you need 2 controllers + a web cam to use it all this to set up move
@Tuan X fanboyism at its best. for 1 player to play all Move games requires 2 Move controllers, 1 nav controller, and 1 cam. so that's $100 for bundle (1 move, 1 cam, 1 game), $50 for another move, and $30 for a nav. so that's $180 for 1 player. then it's $130 for a second player (2 move at $100, 1 nav at $30). so for 2 players, that's already $310.
Kinect will be less successful exactly because you won't be holding anything to interface with the game. Holding/handling something tangible is more natural -- just think about the different sports; we are pretty much hardwired with the need to interact with something physical. Plus, it will be less exhausting with a controller than solely using your body.
@Colours hard to call, but all of them had some awesome shit. There was no clear "black sheep" this year, honestly. Anyone who says "Sony sucked" or whatever is on the wrong site. Go to Joystiq (you know, the site about games). Engadget only has the gadgets here, but some of the games they announced were pretty f'ing awesome. That ESPN thing still stings, though (and might actually prompt me to get a 360)
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
So, who won E3?
@Colours
the gamers :)
@Colours Sony, Move FTW
@Colours Microsoft...there is no need for playing with an ice cream in your hand...
@bluefisch200 With the Natal (deliberate mistake), you CAN play with an ice-cream in your hand.
@Colours
To be Honest, ALL companies won.
Microsoft - Innovative Kinect tech
Nintendo - Incredible 3DS conecpt + game lineup
Sony - Extremely wide support for both casual and harcore gamers
@Colours

@Colours WTF people!? The Sony keynote isnt even over with yet?!
@Colours microsoft, nintendo was a very close second.
@ryan420 So your living room is large enough for 4 people to be waving and kicking? Something's going to get broken.

Mark my word.
@Christopher02 i believe the kinect has its own processor so it wouldn't tax the xbox resources.

@big nazty JESUS CHRIST GUYS, the Playstation Eye (a required portion for Move to work) has a microphone. Please at least hate on the facts.
@commenter7 yea i would agree with that the result was a big punch up and a draw
