Another Android tablet spotted? Say it ain't so!
What's this? Oh, just yet another Android tablet spotted in the wild hanging out, looking cool. This one, made by Acorp, is a 5-incher with Android 1.5 (upgradable to 2.2) and we have to say, it definitely looks a lot like the Dell Streak. We also hear that there's going to be a 7-inch version as well, if you need something that's absolutely massive. It's got a 600MHz Rockchip ARM9 processor, micrsSD slot, 3.5mm jack and Wi-Fi, and a resistive touchscreen with stylus. We know that it's going to be available sometime next month, and while we don't have pricing information, we've heard that if you're willing to buy it in bulk (over 1,000 units, friend) they'll be around $88 each. Deal? Video after the break.

Yea, I really dont know the difference between Andriod 2.2 or 1.5. Nor do I care. All you need to do is look at the spec where it says ARM9 and done. That thing no matter the OS will be slower then slow. All the other tablets are running at least cortex A8's. Even if they over-volt the processor considerably, it will still be slow slow slow. So forget about arguing about Andriod because it doesnt even matter.
Some people here are dancing around this so I'll be blunt: 5" is not a tablet. 7" is not a tablet. I don't know what to call these devices, but they are not tablets, they are simply too small. 9" is probably the minimum screen size to qualify as a tablet. I'll avoid the standard joke of Moses not showing up holding two five inch slabs of stone and just pull out the word "slab" which is often at the heart of the definition of the word "tablet". This ain't no slab. Someone come up with a new word for these sub-9" non-phones, pronto.

5" makes for a far more useful and portable device that does everything a tablet does. there is a term already but due to the lack of success with the term UMPC they settled with tablet. no other size makes for a perfect one handed device for all uses including book reader.

Uhm.. Pads?
Seriously, the iPad is more of a tablet and this "tablet" is more of a pad.
I'll take it for $88.
But, come on Engadget... "MicrosSD"?
Lol first off the ipad was in the works before the iPhone came out. Second I said apple started the new way tablet computers work now. Just as they did with the iPhone. And ya they did get the ball rolling. How were tablets selling before the ipad hit the market. Oh yeah they were not. And android come on been there done that. Slow choppy crawling horrible welfare free loading experience. Garbage. You haters hate the truth.
And a product just based on specs don't make the product great either. Did you people ever notice that every company copies apple products and ups the specs on them? And apple still murders them in the area. If not your blind.
I stopped reading at "resistive touchscreen" ... Oh Android, why can't you just be released on my dream tablet ...
