Orange and O2 announce UK iPhone 4 pricing
UK carrier Orange has already confirmed that it'll be joining in on the iPhone 4 party on June 24th, and it's just now revealed exactly how much the phone will cost you depending on the service you choose. As with the 3GS, the iPhone 4 is available on both monthly or pay-as-you-go plans, and actually starts as low as free for a 16GB iPhone 4 on the highest monthly plan (£75 per month) and goes all the way up to £570 (or $845) for an off-contract 32GB iPhone 4 on a pay-as-you-go plan. There's literally no less than twenty different price points in all, however, so be sure to hit up the source link below to see exactly what's available before you go line up.
Update: Hey, O2 has followed suit. Imagine that!

@Original Nosebleed How I'd love to go back to 12m contracts. Kept the networks on their toes and competition was good.
It's really annoying, phones are being releeased faster than ever and yet contracts are getting longer. :(
That's flexibility . Can you imaging the iPhone on a 60 dollar unlimited plan like Boost mobile or better ala metro pcs(minus the Cdma slowness or marginal service areas) ash what a great dream that would be :)
Is the orange Iphone handeset (pay as you go) locked to the orange,If its unlocked I might cancel my order with apple.
@shadex Em just to tell yu I cancalled mine with apple because with apple yu have to buy the micro sim for a network and aslo apple don't offer free Internet for one year also it's 20 pounds expensive I personaly think it's a no brianer and I am goin to wait for o2
for the locked question it makes no diffrence either wait for your peffered network to release it (if they are) and if yu want yu could probably unlock it using the many trusted softwares realeased from the dev team
They must have lost their minds! These prices are ridiculous!
Yes Orange usually do lock their handsets. PAYG and contract.
O2 usually leave them unlocked on most handsets, though until now they've had the iphone locked down. They may not bother now that its open to other networks.
Im quite happy being a tart, I'll go with whichever provider offers the best deal. Voda is still in with a chance, Orange seem to be heavily pushing people towards the 24 month contract, and O2 still haven't released their phone price.
Be interesting to see what THREE offer, I've stayed away from them until now as their networks been renowned for poor coverage, but I hear its improving nowerdays. T-mobile seem pretty mute on the subject,.
Ill be pretty miffed if there's no stock on the 24th though with 600000 people snapping up preorders.
@ddub I called T-Mobile on the 15th to enquire (currently with them using a HTC Touch HD) and was told the following; T-Mobile stock will not even be in the country until the 24th, they then have to perform network testing. The guy I spoke to said availability will be significantly after the June 24th launch.
If their network testing for the iPhone is anything like their other smartphones (MDAs etc.) then you could be waiting up to three months for it to become available!
This is a full rip off on the price you pay for the phone as well i mean in America they pay $199 and were paying £220, aye orange jog on...
@jordyNI Never heard of VAT ?
@jordyNI
Can you say collusion?
Makes my current deal seem to good to be true. Paid £100 plus £35 per month for 18 months for the 3G. Back then O2 had the monopoly. I thought the competition between the networks would bring the costs down?
am not buying any iphone !!1 I WILL STEAL IT !!!
AND I WILL GUARANTEE YOU THAT IT WONT BE SIN !!
BECAUSE THIS RIP OFF IS JUST UNBELIVEABLE !!!
No info on Canada?
I wish the us had the freedom that uk does
I tiped this hours ago. it took a while
At least they have iPhone 4's?
Nice strong 4G signal here in West Los Angeles, near Olympic and Bundy!
I have pre-ordered mine from the Apple website, black 16gb iPhone 4 for £499, should come on the 24th! :) andd I am just waiting on the networks to announce micro sims, and then I am sorted!
Orange=dishonest
Vodafone=o2 copy cats
o2=bad network, especially for internet
Three=cheap and best for 3G
T-mobile=crap
@kariminal01 You can just cut a normal sim card to be the same as a micro simcard and it works, seen it on a Youtube video that someone in UK used on an iPad.
Question:
Why is the iPhone so expensive off contract?
Isn't the difference between an iPhone and an iPod touch a 3g transceiver, gps and compass? Why would it be $700 for an iPhone 4 32gb without a contract when an ipod touch 32gb is only $300. If there is more hardware included in the iPhone, it certainly is not worth $400. Whats with the upcharge, shouldn't all phone be free, the contract is where the companies make all of their money.
Please correct me if I'm wrong...
Well I have tryed orange with my 3GS, vodafone with my laptop dongle & o2 micro sim on my iPad I now have 3 micro sim in the iPad and it works great every where and 10 gb for £15 a month compared to the rest of the networks I think I will be signing up with 3 for the new iPhone an sell my 3GS 32gb to cover the cost of buying out of my orange contract as unlimited should mean no limits I received a Tex from them telling me I was going to get capped as I used over 750mb complete joke bye bye orange after 10 years
If you have five dollars and Chuck Norris has five dollars, Chuck Norris has more money than you.
What a joke, £219 for the phone on a £45 a month contract for 18 months! Come Orange don't ask me to do the maths, right OK I will; thats £1029!!!!!!
@UKFrEnZiE Adding on...
£45 a month for 24 months and £139 for the phone comes out at £1219, why is it more expensive on a 24 month contract, granted you are getting more line rental but do a better deal on the phone!
im getting an error when trying to access their page:
" Thanks for visiting the O2 Online Shop
Unfortunately, we are unable to sell to countries outside the UK. "
DUDES, i dont want to buy, i just want to SEE IT !!!
Damn, they are so stupid !
