PlayStation Move shooting attachment in pictures: the ray gun you always dreamed of
We heard a mention of the PlayStation Move shooting attachment in Sony's Move E3 press release, but now that we've seen photos of the thing we think we're in love. The trigger of the attachment locks in with the analog "T" trigger button of the slotted-in Move controller for some sweet, shoot-tastic shooting, while the face buttons of the controller remain accessible thanks to a window cutout up top. But while we're sure it works great and all that silly nonsense, we're just totally enamored with the looks: it's like a 1950's ray gun, and with a light-up ball on the end and the future of motion gaming at your fingertips, perhaps that's not so far from the truth. The ray gun part. The 50's were actually a pretty bad year for motion controlled console gaming.

doesn't look to gun-ish ... looks more of a Wii remote to me
@DeviantmacG I can't wait untill women start shooting this...
Out of there..
You know..
Cos' it looks like a ping pong ball on the end..
@DeviantmacG Set Phasers on stun, stunningly crap.
Give me a massive chain gun that I can hang off my shoulder!!
"ARRRRGH YOU MUTHER F&*@ER!!!"
@DeviantmacG
ermm...
no it doesnt, the wiimote is a horrific white block
the attachments for the wiimotes are also useless bits of plastic they charge as much as the actual remote for
overall i quite like this, looks nice
@mrpixel
Carter: "Do you like to play with Playstations stick?"
Kyle: "Yes, I very much do like to play with Playstations stick"
Carter: "What are you kyle.. A gay PS3 owner?"
Kyle: "HAHAHA ur so totally cool and not fat at all!"
@uckApple Do you actually watch South Park? Who is Carter? *fail*
@KennyB123
You killed Keenan! You Mongrel!
@Mark S Screw you guys, I'm going to my house.
@geekthree PEW PEW PEW
@Billy
I clicked through to the comments just to see all the 'pew-pew' entries.
pew-pew... pew-pew-pew
@geekthree Nintendo should make a game like that. Just have virtual targets like cups and things and they have to fire it onto the targets. That would be one hell of a party game, even families can get involved. I think Gran would win though.
I don't get why the ball has to be so big. Surely sensors are able to pick up small LED lights. I really don't like the idea of having to charge every device type either and having one per activity. The wii-mote idea is better and Kinect/Natal is the best idea.
If people don't love this they are a little dead inside.
@MojoYugen
atleast with Move you can have a gun instead of having to use your finger to shoot stuff let's see how accurate that's going to be... Am i the only one that never heard Microsoft mention 1:1 tracking?
@mrpixel The ray gun I've always dreamed of? Not quite. Maybe if I liked Hello Kitty and Care Bears this would be my dream ray gun. This is just too dorky and too My Little Pony. I'll pass on this disco-globe-lollipop-erotic-toy-crap.
@DeviantmacG
with this blow dryer attachment women can play women type games now! next up is a mop and cooking pan attachment....
(too soon?)
@DeviantmacG
Interstella 5555, anyone?
@KennyB123
*dead*
@Mark S
South Park in Canada - they needed to edit names because they were too American.
Kyle is a Muslim in South Park Canada version.
LOL
Sony really sucks at naming things lately, don't they?
So do these controllers have multiple colored LEDs in each, or do you have to buy each one in a different color?
If you're talking about the ball at the end, the color is automatically changing, based on your surroundings. The color will vary depending on your background environment, and the PlayStation Eye will speak to the Controller and tell it what color to emit so it can better track the controller in a 3D space.
@DeviantmacG
Glowing dildo controller. Now in gun shape.
@geekthree OH YEAHHHH That's exactly wat i thought!
@ThreeDee912
Great film
That is badass!
@barac With muzzle flash!
@barac No. This is ass bad.
@barac
It doesn't look that bad. Making it slot in with the buttons on the side would have made more sense though. That way you can grapple the trigger in one hand and hold the barrel with access to the buttons in the other.
@barac - if it was made of metal I would be able to say "Brothers on my jock for the way I hold a piece of steel, so what you sayin"...
Why that must be the cutest looking gun I have ever seen!
@SlimSpaceman
That's a gun? I thought it was some sort of beer pong accessory.
@SlimSpaceman
Nay, this is the cutest gun you've ever seen.

@snowbound
I thought it was a sex toy.
and I thought the wiimote gun looked funny...
want!!!
Nothing like a gun with a light bulb on the end to strike fear into the hearts of zombies and nazis.
@Pryomancer
Yeah. Not too intimidating. Now vampires...
@Pryomancer The enemies in SOCOM 4 will be struck with fear. Well, you can't blame them. Who wouldn't be afraid of something as badass as this?
Pow Pow!
@Gobes its pew pew
@Ducman69
more like Ping Pong
@wickywills made my day xD
@Gobes
Boing Boing!
Pow Pow!
@Gobes
Post Post!
It would be good it it gave recoil...
I CAN FINALLY TAKE OVER THE WORLD WITH MY RAY GUN! MUAHAHAHA! Oh...it's just a PS Move gun...
I thought we learnt from all the useless Wiimote attachments.
@jubjub
well it depends, if you want me to play the new Socom with Move I would prefer such attachments and u can use it for other games as well unlike the Wii controller sports attachment pack.
Just imagine the old arcades where you can only hide, reload and shoot,
Damn I payed a lot into these machines on the ferry to britain ....
Am I the only one that's expecting a little flag popping out that says: "bang!"? xD
