KT brings the Nexus One to South Korea, complete with Froyo
The Nexus One may have taken a little while to reach South Korea, but it looks like KT is doing its best to make up for lost time -- the carrier has just announced that it will not only be offering the Nexus One, but that it will come complete with Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo). True to Nexus One form, you'll be able to snag the phone off-contract for 699,600 won (or about $576), but you'll also be able to get it for just 150,000 won (or $125) on a two-year contract. Not many surprises beyond that, but it looks like supplies will be limited to just 4,000 units for the June 21st launch -- although KT promises it will be readily available at stores across the country in July.

@wemustcontrolpeople
Dear god that reply is inappropriate :-P
@ComeShot
I'd like to bring them to America
@BobStewart
Yep, the one on the right will work out just fine.
@ComeShot
You're all swooning over the hot ladies and what was the first thing I noticed? The engadget app widget on the one on the right... WTF is wrong with me?
@ChazClout I think the Engadget app was cleverly Photoshopped/ChocoFlopped/GIMPed in
@ChazClout You used "swooning" to describe what guys do...
@ComeShot
So it's froyo for the phones and hotyo for..
I choose the one on the right...
@iLoveApple
Win.
@wemustcontrolpeople lol looks like you wrote comeshot babes when I first scanned the commenting section
@d0mth0ma5 rofl.... time to tell the wife my secret!
@ComeShot in the mouth...
@Slick trust me forgot bringing him heres,better to go there,country of high tech gadgets,and a population of 50million my point is why settle for 2
@ComeShot
Tethering those two wouldn't be half bad
@iLoveApple
You mean 5 of them... Right?
@iLoveApple pfft...I'd rather bootstrap them! :-P
@soelinn I think the verb you're looking for is Jailbreak.
In the meantime, we still up in the air on when we are getting pushed 2.2 update on existing N1s.
@pika2000
Yeah... quite frustrating...
@Plazmic Flame
well it shouldnt be hard to port out the korean version and pop it right into the north american ones
@Plazmic Flame
why don't you just download the update like everyone else did, it took me exactly 2 minutes for the whole process. and it does not forbid you from receiving next OTAs.
Damn people you got to be breastfeeded as well?
@aeonys Don't be ignorant. It was a pre-release version with bugs. People don't want a pre-release buggy Froyo. We want a FINAL Froyo.
@pika2000 I am willing to bet that if it is being pre loaded and released june 21st in korea then I am sure that means google should be getting ready to push it out. I could be wrong though.
@aeonys "Damn people you got to be breastfeeded as well?"
yerr on engadget/gizmodo - what'dya expect?
@GldRush98
What bugs exactly? I haven't noticed any bugs.
@pika2000 If existing N1 users don't get the OTA 2.2 update on the 21st it's going to reek of fail.
So that means Google must have the final version of Froyo ready to go, which begs the question: why the hell doesn't my N1 have Froyo yet!?!?
@MRCUR B/C you didnt install the correct rom yet.
If this is coming the 21st then FROYO must be ready....of they are just releasing a version with a few bugs in it.
@rutger1413 - To clarify, I do have the FRF50 Froyo ROM on my N1 currently. I'm referring specifically to the OTA update...
@MRCUR Because you're not as cool as me?
@Bosco - You have a horse as an avatar. No way you're cooler.
@MRCUR Exactly, there are 4000 phones sitting in back rooms in S. Korea today witht he final build of Froyo on it, that means it is fully baked (or chilled if you prefer) and ready to go. Why the hell haven't they pulled the trigger on the OTA yet? Some of us witht he AT&T compatible phone would rather not void our warranties to upgrade.
@RandomGuy - FWIW, I'm glad I unlocked the bootloader now. Not only am I getting to play around with Froyo, I was able to find a radio firmware that works leaps and bounds better for me than before. That alone is worth the voided warranty to me since the phone is usable now.
Also, I got to try out Sense UI without having an HTC device that ships with it. And let me tell you - it's one of the best, if not THE best, UIs around.
Argentina > S. Korea.
@Joseph9307
Beef > Phones
@Joseph9307
Technology and hot women. Hot women that like technology. > just hot women
Just sayin.
@Joseph9307
None of you guys understand the football reference. Argentina beat S. Korea today in the world cup. I doubt any of you care, but thought i'd just put it out there.
@dedparrot Got it, care, watched it (English)
@Joseph9307
No Argentine beat S. Korea in football. But trust me South Korea > Argentina
@Jimbob
Argentinian cell phones are the best!..... oh wait
good game though!
It is coming out with FroYo on June 21st?! Does that mean FroYo will finally hit my N1 on the 21st? Oh please...Oh please...Google gods, give me my FroYo!
Obligatory hot Asian chick comment!!
