Developer gets Sony's Remote Play working on non-VAIO machines
Sony has been teasing its Remote Play functionality to a few devices, including the Aino and its VAIO laptops, but if your possession of Sony gadgets doesn't extend beyond your home entertainment center you've been out of luck. Not any more, courtesy of a developer who goes by the handle NTAuthority, who has managed to get Remote Play to work on any machine -- any machine that can run Windows 7, at least. NTAuthority's patch allows Sony's VAIO Remote Play app to run on non-VAIOs, and from the reports we're seeing in forums it even works on a Windows VMware instance hosted on a Mac. That 400kb patch is on the other end of that source link below, so if you feel like giving it a shot it at least it won't take long to download.

Does it work in windows 7? I get a .dll error
@Hydra if you read the Read Me, you would se that yes it does work on Windows 7 and you would see the solution as well if you have problems.
@GregoryRasputin I have read the readme file and have followed the steps and when after I put in the code given from the ps3 I get errors. I didn't see any solution to this in the readme file.
More details and the Vaio patch are also available here: http://www.ps3news.com/PS3-Online/sony-ps3-remote-play-and-remote-keyboard-software-released/
Works great. But too bad you can't play any games that support remote play.
Currently getting:
The module "VRPSDK.dll" failed to load.
Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxtrace.exe tool for more detail.
I was able to register the other .DLL but not this one on my laptop. I have already done this on a desktop PC before the laptop so I know I am doing it properly.
@Minions
Loading both the DLL's in cmd prompt came up with errors for me, but the whole thing still worked fine.
app on my nexus one or it didn't happen!
Can you use this to take snapshots and make video footage? Because if you could, that would be so friggin' awesome. Helpful too, if you happen to be into making video reviews for sites like YouTube.
Even though I got errors trying to dlls, it still worked. Too bad the video quality looks like a$$.
