NEC LifeTouch Android tablet isn't exactly a beauty
Hey, they say beauty's in the eye of the beholder, but we're going to go out on a limb here and call this one like we see it: NEC's LifeTouch Android tablet isn't a looker, in our opinion. That said, this 7-incher runs Android 2.1 and packs an ARM Cortex A8 processor. Although it's scheduled for release in Japan in October, it turns out that it'll be sold directly to businesses, so don't hope to grab up one of these -- unless you have the best employer ever, that is. Hey, at least it's original looking. Video below.

Have they even used an iPad? Admittedly it's a different device, different price, different market, but I'm shocked they felt this device was good enough to show it off. Urgh.
It's low res, dog slow, ugly/confusing.
Aside from the form factor, this thing looks really slow. And the resistive screen won't do the experience any good either.
This is so unbelievably ugly, unintuitive, unresponsive and awkward, it really hurts.
Fugly. Reminds me alot of the knock off iPad's that have developed a huge market in China:

It looks fine. Just like the iPad looks fine. And there's nothing brilliant about the iPad design.
It's also loaded with features. The resistive screen is good enough for the market they're aiming for. If the package is too expensive then businesses won't buy into it.
This would have been an awesome product......about 10 years ago.
Why such a sluggish performance with A8?? Android seriously need to make use of the GPU!! Same problem with my N1, the stock launcher is unforgivable!
Forgot to mention, Android with a stylus?
Good heavens! That is one ugly tablet. They can't expect to sell any of these considering how many pretty iPad alternatives there will be out there like the Notion Ink Adam, HP Slate, Archos 9, Innoversal, WePad, etc., etc. Check them out on http://www.alternatives2ipad.com/
