@RincewindWiz apparently people willing to pay twice as much for a plastic case for their xbox than the xbox itself. I predict low sales figures.
Or you could make a case for an ipad monitor?(thats all its good for)

low sales? Maybe, but not from a price point. It is a case with a SCREEN in it, not just a case, i expect this to sell bad because i doubt many people will want one.

valid points but, too me it seems like a good idea or at least the start of a good idea. Yes it will be a small audience but like those backpack cases for consoles you see on the market noone really uses but they are there for those that want them.
i mean i just shove my PS3 in the suitcase and surroud it with cloths but if some such portable screen case variant thats practical to use comes around, than i would't mind trying it out.
trust me, taking a game console dispit its hard ship saves hours of miserly and lop of not bring one along.

@Zylam dont understand whats all the fuss, i dont travel at all. but i would buy one with out a doubt. i could take it to a buddies house and play team death match on gears of war in the same room. this is f-ing AWESOME. sign me up. i will DEFINITELY be buying one. and i know about 7 other people that would jump on this quicker than engadget apple post.
@bombastinator i think the screen comes with, why else would they charge $250 for a case (they're not apple, The iCase)

I feel like I could make my own for a fraction of the price with very little effort.

Yeah but anyone bright enough to be able to do that won't pay 250$ to house an obsolete device that's probably going to be worth 100$ or less pretty quickly. You're outside of their 'people too stupid to pour pee out of a boot' demographic.

Way cooler would be a case mod with a touchpanel on one of the sides, a dock for a wireless controller, and a handle on top.

Why photoshop a Halo 3 (HUDless) image onto an Xbox not plugged in or on, is it that hard to get a good picture of your own product working?

Everyone photoshops images onto screens. It's really hard (if possible at all) to get a good picture of a screen that's on. That's why all commercials for tvs and phones say that the screen images are simulated.

yeah, a gaming laptop might be an option. That's if you find a decent gaming laptop for under 1000$.
And even then, good luck trying to play Halo 3, Alan Wake or GoW2 on those.

Although, I must say this is a million times better than anything that is or has ever been on the market. Remember those 5 inch screens for the original xbox? Junk. This thing at least has some decent aspects to it.

No space for powerbrick or controllers? I sure hope the designers are facepalming at the comment section on all these blogs with this article posted. The damn case is more expensive than the majority of the 360 SKUs and it can't even hold the brick...
