WiFi-only Nook surfaces in Barnes and Noble database, costs $149?
We knew it was coming, but not how soon, and we'd only guessed at a price. Today a tipster sent over this screenshot, however, clearly showing a Nook WiFi on Wednesday for $149. While internal databases aren't the most reliable source for release dates even assuming the screenshot is legit, we'll know for sure in just days. The question now is how Kobo stacks up.
Update: Google's dropping some $149 - $199 hints about the new Nooks in its sponsored ads as well. See a sample after the break. [Thanks, Joseph]

Stiillll a little wary of buying one, but it's definitely the top choice for dedicated readers at that price.
I just got my Kindle from Target like 2 weeks ago. I guess I have the remainder of the 90day return window to make a decision. So far, I love this device. I had the Nook before and I liked it, but at the same price the Kindle wins.
At $149, I'll have to change that stance... I have no need for 3G service.
Oh boy, this might be something to consider...
(Especially since I just got Mobile Hotspot going on my Pre. :D)
Anyone know if the issues mentioned here...

Have been addressed with an update? Sounds like the user interface can be a pain to deal with
@AndyD Which ones? I don't feel like reading through that whole review haha.
A lot has improved since the update and pretty significantly. Let me know which ones you were wondering about.
@AndyD
Yes, they have had a few firmware updates since then. Has web browser and games now too!
If the Wi-Fi only nook costs that much I might actually pick one up. I don't really need a giant iPod Touch er... I mean iPad.... considering that I already own an iPhone.
that's pretty legit. amazon better watch out.

It would be an automatic buy if I didnt know Amazon has something under their sleeve.
haha, this is great. "leaking" their lower priced Nook. I'm probably getting one for fun.
So a 3G radio costs $110? Damn.
$150 is a good price but I'd rather see it at around $100. Is it the eink keeping the price up? I was in BnN this weekend and got hands on and it just didn't seem like there was enough beefy-ness to the thing to be keeping the price that high.
@sweet greggo
well, it's not only $110, but i'm sure some of that goes to AT&T for providing the network and bandwidth.
whereas apple will charge you $129 and still make you pay for data.
@sweet greggo I'm sure we would all love to see it at $19.95 with a couple of sham wows thrown in but, lets be realistic here.
@slipdisc
I don't think $100 is out of the question for this product, unless like I said it's the e-ink that's keeping the price up.
I'm a little ticked that the non-3g wasn't released first. Would've saved me some cash, maybe at least $50. That's more than enough for a router. I really don't need 3g.
The screenshot is legit. The image may have been altered, but the software is what Barnes and Noble's internal computers run.
Actualy i saw in my local best buy they had an ad corection noticed posted that the $50 gift card offer was being replaced by a new lower price of $199 starting monday.
