Why do I need iOS4 to read eBooks? I don’t want to abandon my iPhone Classic just yet! I guess I’ll have to stick with Stanza a little longer ... This requirement is really ridiculous.
iPhone......*yawn*
Should have jut been titled,
"Apple Rolls Out One More Thing That Will Dominate The Whole Market It's Aimed At.. E-Books"
Just installed this on my iPhone - I've tried searching for the books I want without any luck! Very disapointed!
Does anyone know when this will work properly in the UK?
http://delldiscount.experts.uk.com
@hated one yeah it does.... for a very long time actually
Hmmm, is this in the UK App Store yet..? I just spent the good hour and a half to download and install on my phone (too much backing up and restoring for my liking but suppose it has to be done) and still I cannot find this in the App Store, either on my phone or from the iTunes Store.
What gives?
@KopparbergDave Typical, just searched again and it's there now. Grr Apple making me look stupid :p
no luck with iphone 2g /: requires iphone os 3.2 (eh? is there such thing?)
@Marko Not for you. Or people with the first gen iPod touch.
@Marko Or iPhone 3g with os 3.1.3. N no i'm not gonna trade my jailbroken-multitasking function with Winnie the Pooh!!!
"No one reads anymore"
-Steve Jobs
Does the iPhone/iPod version also have the built-in dictionary that the iPad version has?
Reading a book with 3.5 inch screen will ruin your eye sights. I don't read that many books so I'm satisfied with free books at my local library.
ENGADGED !!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ARE TOO MUCH OBSESSED WITH APPLE COMPANY AND IPHONE GRRRRRRRRRRRR
@Evoss Then go to another site? Why voice ur opinion if it won't change anything...news is news to me
Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven rocks!
i cant open PDFs!!! o.O. and instead of the header being a toggle between books and pdfs like the pic in the story mine just says iBooks
@bravadomizzou just drop your pdf in iTunes, Books section then sycronise your device.
Who would want to read a whole book on a 3.5 inch screen ?
@xstephx I use to read them off my old Handspring Visor for years. Though, it used a reflective screen which was easy on the eyes. I couldn't imagine reading it off a small back-lit screen.
I'd still much rather have the Kindle app on the basis that it doesn't lock my content into one set of devices. The lesser of two DRM-induced evils for sure.
What's the true name of the App? I sure as hell don't see on the App Store as "iBooks"
@Saber It is there
I don't have the PDF option on mine, but I haven't synced with iTunes since installing iBooks so that's probably why.
You might think reading books on your phone is silly, but it really isn't that bad, especially when it also syncs with the iPad
Apple changed the way iBook's dictionary worked. Before if the ebook language was undefined, it defaulted to English. Now, the dictionary fails. Sucks for a lot of user created epubs that never used this field.
for some reason i did the update on my I-pad but still i have no PDF support.
Is it just me or does it run like crap on iPhone 3g?
where is the ibook app. doesnt seem like its on the app store?
Fed Ex says my iphone 4 arrived on US soil ! its in Anchorage AK
SHENZHEN CN ( Origin of the shipment )
via ..... LANTAU ISLAND HK, current status its in USA through tracking info.
Large books in the iBook are pretty painful. I have a free one called 'Union of Renegades'. You pretty much can't do anything until the page numbers appear at the bottom. With the font I picked, it ended up being 3000 pages (1000 on the iPad).
my iBook did not come with Winnie the Pooh!
@alvinkyen It's a free download from the iBooks' store. Look under Charts > Top Free. It's #1.
Why on earth are us 2G users being left out of iBooks? When I go to download it from the US iTunes store, it states that I need to have OS 3.2 installed - well how can I when that isn't being offered?
We have already been locked out of iOS 4 so at least give iBooks for crying out loud Apple! You don't need an A4 chip to read an ebook and a PDF.. cut us 2G users some slack!
My iPhone 2G died
iBooks is painfully slow on my 3G, anyone else experiencing it too?
Who care??? I care.
never mind. I only enjoy it.
I'm wait for iphone 4 for a long time.
the additional ibook is my favorite.
I can't wait to buy it right now even if I have no enough money.
And more iphone detials in this iphone spot( http://www.ifunia.com/iphone-column/index.html) that I would visited everyday. Somethings you want to know, I guess.
iBooks 1.1 with PDF support for iPad , so I can enjoy it with my ipad.
