Droid X commercial reveals a few specs -- if you look very, very closely
Verizon's got a teaser ad running for the upcoming Droid X now, but if you see it on TV and you don't have a DVR that can slow down the action, you're going to miss all the good stuff -- in fact, all you really see at full speed is a scary eye that slowly transforms into the lifeless, blood-red vision sensor of a killer robot. If you pull some freeze frames, you can make out a few specs in the reflection of the eye -- HDMI output, 8 megapixel camera, and a 4.3-inch WVGA display, stuff we already knew -- plus a reference to DROIDLanding, which turns out to be some sort of viral Twitter account. Obviously, analyzing an eyeball this closely can really have a lasting traumatic effect on an individual -- but if you insist on having a look for yourself, the full video's after the break.

Turn up the bass and blast this ad!
@trong
Cant wait to see other Ads
@trong Man, its the WFVGA screen after all. I was hoping for 1280x720 or at least WSVGA so it could match the iPhone 4's res. Nonetheless, this is an excellent phone and will be a best seller.
That's such a weird commercial
@josemedina1983
those clever bastards...
I thought we already knew these specs...?
@cr3amy We did, by and large. Just cute how they revealed them here.
@Chris Ziegler
Oh cool, yeah I agree it's kinda cool
@Chris Ziegler
Yeah, this is surely a deliberate technique to get media interest?
If not, scary attention to detail putting real reflection ion like that, and probably over-budgeted!
@FORDY
Oh it is most certainly for media or they wouldn't have had the twitter feed's name in there. Very cool though.
Badass
Resistance is futile
Cue "Requiem for a Dream" soundtrack?
I thought the display was 4.4 inches.
@PresidentObama It was then confirmed 4.3
is the new motoblur a pain on this phone? I am really tempted to get this one. I was going for the INCREDIBLE but I'm falling for the hype on this one. Gonna go try at the store the first chance its on display at the Verizon store.
Does it have an Apple logo on it? If not, why is it on this site?
@forzanerazzurri2 Dick
Awesome
Can't wait to see it in person!
and then there's HTC, looking like a bunch of douchebags with the backordered Incredible, the Ozone, and the Imagio in Verizon's lineup. maybe they just don't like money, because they're about to lose a TON of marketshare to Motorola and Samsung if they don't start leaking some info on a future device.
For the life of me I don't understand why they create the device slim with a fat bulge on top, instead of a flat back covering a battery that will last through two days rather than one. After all, what use is a big screen and a good mp3/video player app if it drains your batt so much you have to recharge within the day? Already sucks on my HD2, and the Droidx look just as thin...
Okay. Look at the VERY end. Where it says 07.2010. It flickers and turns into 07.2.2010. July 2nd release date?

@kpenning I thought I saw that, and for the life of me couldn't freeze it at the point where I could see it again.
@kpenning Nice catch. I'm really loving this commercial. One of the better phone commercials this year.
@kpenning
That's just the 2 from the 2010. This phone will be out July 19th.
