iPhone 4 arriving one day early on June 23rd, says Apple email

Well, here's an interesting turn of events. Apple has apparently sent out emails notifying at least some of those who ordered iPhone 4 that it'll be arriving June 23rd. (Well over three dozen people have tipped us to this in the last 30 minutes -- thanks, by the way.) Hard to say if the delivery man will keep to this early gifting notification, but keep hoping, true believer. Full text of email after the break.

Dear Apple Store Customer,

You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus

I'm guessing this is to spread out the phone activations over two days to lessen the peak loads.

One day for preorders. One day for lineups.

I just called FedEx and I will be getting my iPhone 4 delivered on Wednesday the 23rd also!

I ordered with AT&T in the store on the morning of the 15th but have yet to hear anything from AT&T about it.

FedEx said it was a for sure delivery for Wednesday though!

Now I have to wait another week before the dock and bumper case come. Oh well, small price to pay for 10:30 EST tomorrow :)

Yess, now I get to read and watch all the wonderful iPhone 4 reviews / Hands on 1 day earlier!

I hope they announce an official Canadian release already, its driving me INSANE!

It will be interesting to see if Apple organized everything so that there isnt one GIGANTIC failure on launch

And if they really wanted to crash the party, they'd tell retailers (including their own stores) to start selling iPhones tomorrow or even today.

Exactly. I woke up at 5 in the morning to get a jump on ordering one because I knew the phone lines and website would get nuked, and after HOURS of re-loading web pages and having even less luck with Apple's phone lines I started getting desperate...

I live in a small town that's 2 hours away form the closest Apple store (and to be honest I would have loved an excuse to stay the night in Vegas so I could get a jump on one of their Apple stores in the morning had I had a clue of just how impossible the website would be to use) and Best Buy was my only available choice so I got there an hour before they opened and was 2nd in line.

Then I freaking hear that Best Buy doesn't even know if they'll have any units at all.. And now I hear that you bastards are getting your phones a whole day earlier!!?? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Does ALL their stuff come from China when ordered off the site? Wouldn't it have made waaay more sense for Apple to get the phones here and maybe try shipping them from the same country they're ending up in?

Or is it cheaper to just ship it right to the end user instead of paying to get it here?
