You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.
This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.
In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus

@Bandit390 But they figured why not let retailers sell it early too because they didn't want to crush the party too much?
It seems more likely to me that FedEx said they didn't want to hold onto 100 million dollars worth of easily-stealable phones in their warehouses that night. FedEx's insurance company would certainly want to have a word with them over it at least.

Yep. I received my tracking info from ATT yesterday and tracked my package this morning. To my pleasant surprise it said my package would arrive on June 23. Very cool.

Yeah, one of the guys at work has been tracking it, and he's supposed to get his tomorrow. Makes me wish I had gotten through with the ordering. I have mine reserved at a local Apple store so I have to wait until Thursday.
I'm in the Orlando area, with a delivery estimate date of June 24th before 4:30pm. But I also got the e-mail and it states "Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep."
So does this mean tomorrow... or the 24th still? I'm quite confused.
@Statusnone88 I am in Tampa, and mine says the same thing. Since ours are in TN right now, it probably takes two days to get to us putting them in our hands on the 24th. Someone at FedEX that I talked to said the 24th, but he was just reading what I was and sounded like he didnt understand much of anything.

I figured, I am actually hoping it comes on the 24th. I work 14 hours tomorrow and won't be here for the delivery. And living in a complex, leaving it at the door is not an option. Thursday I requested off for a day of living on cloud 9. :) Good luck man, Tampa is closer to TN than Orlando so hopefully you might get yours.

Just got my iPhone4 activation instructions, via Text Message. ;-) From AT&T.
i almost peed a little when i got the email...

I'm not surprised. I've been tracking the shipment and my phones were already in my state yesterday.
Sucks to be that guy waiting a week early.... People will have it before him AND it will be delivered to their doorstep....

I pre-ordered through AT&T at about 5am EST on that first Tuesday. AT&T premiere sent me an e-mail yesterday saying that it was ready for shipping.
Checked FedEx a few minutes ago and my phone is en route (picked up from Fort Worth, TX at 6:00am today) and is scheduled to be delivered by 3pm tomorrow!
This comment is remarkably restrained considering how damn excited I am.
Also, just checked on the AT&T regular site and that, too, confirms that my order has been shipped. omgomgomgomg.
Now, I am 99% less motivated to line up Thursday morning.

From a FedEx employees perspective.
Most IPhones come straight from China. International packages must have a delivery attempt on them the day they arrive at the station. Also, you can expect your package to be delivered before 3pm in majority of areas, but the commit time has been waved by Apple, due to the expected volume increase, so it may be later. We can leave your package if you sign the release from Apples website. Or just leave a note on your door authorizing release, to a safe location. You can also ask us to attempt delivery to a neighbor. If you wont be there to sign for the package, and don't want it released. You can also call Fedex with the tracking number, and have the package held at the station. Pick it up as early as 8:30am Wednesday. 1-800-GoFedEx Enjoy your new IPhone...
My tracking info still shows Anchorage, AK but my delivery date is June 23rd by 10:30am.

Is there anyone who received their confirmation email of their order later than 9:45 AM PST on preorder start date that is getting theirs tomorrow? Mine has said "In Progress" since last Wednesday.
wow, mine was shipped out today, from the same city I'm in, I wouldn't be surprised if I got it today, lol. huzzah!!!!
oh, I preordered mine a few hours after it was posted online from at&t store, good ol Dallas, home of AT&T...
I got the early delivery email too. Shipping to Dallas area, a 16GB and 32GB, ordered through Apple. Tracking shows they are in Memphis.
Why are they doing this? I (and I'm sure many others) think Apple wasn't happy with the drama of pre-order day and they want release day to be smoother. By getting some phones out a little early they can space out the activation crush that will occur. Another possible reason, and one I don't really agree with, is that Fed Ex couldn't handle the one day mass delivery and wanted it spread over 2 days.
AT&T shipped my iphone 4 out yesterday via UPS NEXT DAY AIR and I should get it tomorrow, 1 day before release date) (along with a truck load of other iphones all at the dame time - according to UPS).. I cant wait till the Dev-Team releases a jailbreak for iphone 4 , so I can use Face Time over 3g...Freekin AWESOME
Mine still says departed Oakland California as of 15 hours ago and I live in Los Angeles California. But it still says the 24th at 4:30... :( doesn't look to good or their system has yet to update for me. Oakland is only about 6 hours away. I hope it didn't get lost.
@dakazu Well, supposedly it's stuck at a ramp at the airport and will not be here till the 24th. That just sucks, I was excited to get the email that I would get it on the 23rd. I guess it's just my luck.
@dakazu Im from Austin TX and I just called the fed ex office because my iphone is "at dest sort facility" I asked the lady from fed ex if i could pick it up but she said there at the locker in the air port. I have read other blogs around this morning saying that there getting theres and does not actualy indicate on the fed ex website. Lets just hope Apple delivers on its word. Didnt take the day off for nothing LOL!!
@vyratechnetworks Same problem. Sitting at the FedEx facility on the other side of town, but hasn't been put on a truck to be delivered. That normally happens in the 5 AM hour, and it didn't.
@DaDuctTapeArtist Yeah mine too, it's usually on a truck early in the morning but it's still stuck at the airport.
Although I got the email from Apple saying I will receive my iphone today 6/23, according to FedEx tracking iit is still at the sort facility in Dulles VA. I spoke with Apple asking about the email and what it states and he told me that it would be delivered today. I don't know how he knows for sure, but he seemed to be quite arrogant about it. I told him that it has been in Dulles since 5:24AM and in my experience it will not be delivered today, he then hung up on me. Oh well, I guess when Apple sends out the customer survey asking about my experience with CS, I will give bad marks.

But yeah, I think Apple may have forgotten that the entire iPhone-buying population doesn't live on the west coast, when they sent this out.
I live in Ft. Lauderdale and it arrived there yesterday at 6:00 pm, but it's still showing 'at dest facility', which worries me bout getting it by today. I have ppl housesitting just for this...come on, Apple!
Has anyone recived there phone today. I have been reading more and more people are not reciving anything today as apple claimed they would. Maybe its just me but im getting anxious I would hate to be here at home all day waiting for the iphone not to make it today! COMON FEDEX ITS IN AUSTIN ALREADY! JUST DELIVER THE DAMN THINGS ALREADY!
OK for the record I just got mine it's 1:54 PM and I live in Fayetteville, NC. According to FED EX it arrived in Raleigh this morning at 6:30 but it didn't give me that update till noon. Until then it said it left Memphis. Ignore the FED EX tracker, it sucks!
In other news it won't activate. Keeps saying that the activation session is expired..... Thump......
I ordered mine on tuesday @12:43 PM and received it today about an hour ago, way to go apple!
@userids you ordered yours on 6/15 at 12:43 pm and got yours? Are you East Coast or? I got my email confirmation at 9:45 AM PST and mine still shows in progress. If you got yours already and your order was 2 minutes before mine I'm gonna raise bloody hell with AT&T!!
