Like the article said, I think they're getting rid of it to start promoting the regular droid, droid 2 & droid x. I think people realize now that $50 vs 150$ isn't a huge difference when you have to sign a 2 yr contract. I bet they'll drop the regular droid to 100, droid 2/incredible to 150, and droid x to 200.
@JXCGunrunna because the droid x will be the heavy hitting flagship phone while the droid 2 will just be an upgrade to the original. It would similar to when verizon released the original droid at $200 and the droid eris at $100(or was it $150? Not sure)
@supraped69 Well, improved keyboard (supposedly), but some have said it's a half step up. Unconfirmed to some extent, but I would consider the 1ghz processor (compared to 550mhz) and 512mb of RAM (compared to 256) to be the more major upgrades.

@supraped69
Why would the Droid 2 be cheaper than the Droid X?

@JXCGunrunna the droid 2 < droid x?
I'm pretty sure the droid 2 has very similar specs to the droid, but with a better keyboard? Correct me if I'm wrong
