Hey friends, that's right, esteemed colleague and boss will be stopping by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight to talk iPhone 4 and crack a few jokes. Be sure to tune in at the times below -- we hear that Heidi Klum is on tonight, too!

@d3cimate it's not his fault the iphone 4 is a really good phone. just because the majority of editors here that review hundreds of phones every year believe the iPhone 4 is the best phone on the market doesn't mean you should lose any respect for them.

I do agree that the i4 is a good phone. It's actually an incredible device. While a majority of the editors are in agreement with this device, there is no denying that they tend to overlook or shy away from making any brash comments regarding the cons of an iDevice.
It's kind of like getting married. You go on the honeymoon and everything is new, exciting, and fresh. But then after a few months, the shiny new becomes dull, some problems start popping up, and you start to see how it stands against the test of time.
Is it bad that my thoughts were "Who the heck is Josh? Oh... Oh, that Josh." Sorry! I spend more time reading the articles than I do remembering who wrote them. :P
Hmmm... I wonder why the EVO wasn't brought on the show??

Because if he had to bring every FOTM Android phone on that show, they may as well make him a member of the cast.
@ebon, the EVO is not just any other Android, it innovated. First 4G phone, first device with a front facing camera with the ability to video chat. Now the ignoramuses will think the iphone 4 will be the first with the video chat capability. Unless Josh is honest enough to mention the EVO was first.

@scorpeo You relize that the technology inside the Evo is not really 4G? The 4G branding is marketing bull by Sprint... Also the Evo screen size is it's biggest feature and also the reason it will never have mass appeal. No phone that can't easily be sold to 1/2 the population will ever capture any real market share.
So to recap the Evo is to big for most women and doesn't use true 4G technology. If you want real 4G you will have to wait for LTE.
@dxdragon, I do realize you keep commenting with that BULL-SHIT a lot. You do not have a clue what you're talking about, 3G, 4G have nothing to do with speed. Ever heard of, THE NEXT GENERATION WIRELESS?? Sprints 4G just happens to be it, It's new forward technology, new infrastructure with the ability to upgrade to Wimax-2. last I checked, you are NOT the commission who certifies technology. Yeah, let's be clear, no device is sold to half the population, I doubt you know the gender make up of EVO owners. Just shut-up already and disappear.

well...really, he's just talking about what people want to hear about. My local news anchorman talked about the iPhone 4 when the announcement was made....nothing about EVO or Droid X...outside the tech blogs, its just a more widely popular phone. Jimmy wouldve talked about it without Engadget.
Looks like Apple will get their free marketing done for them on late night tv.
I feel like watching to see if he brings up the reception problems and screen problems. The reception problem seems serious enough to recommend not purchasing the product until it's resolved... if it can be resolved.
If he does, I'm guessing he only mentions it in the last ten seconds, like he did when revealing the iPad doesn't play Flash. And I'll bet he's just as apologetic about saying anything negative at all.
Josh should have put the pressure on apple by mentioning the problem with the reception bars once you hold the phone. .. he did the opposite, and ignore the problem
@pedmart I don't think Apple would like Engadget as much if he mentioned a glaring problem with their brand new phone on television.
That being said, I expected him to mention it as well.
Just watched his appearance. It was pretty strange watching somebody talk about tech on television, but not so strange seeing the audience not recognizing Android. Just a matter of time, I suppose.
Although Fallon's fury regarding AT&T was pretty funny. Is it really that bad in New York?
He reiterated his review findings that the reception was better than the 3GS after starting off comparing it to the Moto X Droid. Heidi liked the iPhone 4, said size doesn't matter it's what you do with it. Josh looked good though and had a couple good lines. The Facetime demo was well received.
