@NGagen -- Thx. I'm on EPE54B. I don't think I'm gonna wait up for this one...
Pffffff nothing here in France with SFR. I don't get it, isn't it suppose to be worlwide launchs comgin from Google (only)?
no luck for me either =(
Nothing doin' in Chicago on AT&T. I already had mine up to FRF72, which is probably why. Uncooked Froyo is still so much better than Eclair though. I can wait, maybe. :P
Just manually update to 83 from 72. Here's a link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6926557
I have a tmo N1.
@olypdd Did the same, is this the official release? I can't keep up anymore lol.
Got excited for a minute but only system version update on my Desire in the UK ... who knows, perhaps stage 1 preparation for the main event ... or not ;)
@giuno
Update directly from FRF72 to FRF83 manually with this: https://android.clients.google.com/packages/passion/signed-passion-FRF83-from-FRF72.684bd56a.zip
It works great!
@giuno thanks, will try this
well it seems to be what they're saying at xda. It was signed and works great. I know what you mean....it's confusing unless you really read through the blogs. I've been browsing the web recently by using the N1 as a wifi hotspot on TMO 3g and was very impressed. I've been very impressed with the N1, especially now with froyo.
Now that I think about it, I haven't done any ota updates with the N1. Every one went off without a hitch.
8.19am in the UK and still nothing on my Nexus One (which is a US import on O2) will update when I get it
Actually do you think this is the reason for the Market being down ?????????
I was on the Market awhile ago, even after the update to 83
Just did the manual update form FRF72 -> FRF83 using the official updates file.
Next update.... Gingerbread, by the end of this year :)
Used the manual update given above to move from frf73 to now 83. Saaaweet! All my paid apps are back
Updated to FRF83 and....YES! the wifi issues I was having with FRF72 are gone:D
Does *#*#checkin#*#* give ROM updates too? All I get are apparently app updates and its cool to force check app updates...
Hope ATT is not messing with 2.2 update.. I just don't understand why Google got double standards for the same hardware (tmo, att)... it is not the 3g bands, something else...
@Engadgeteeer Not sure what the policy is for AT&T or US T-Mobile but on my unlocked N1, never get push nofitifcations or "check for updates" via settings or the dialer command for any of the Froyo builds...had to manually install them all so far.
THE DECLARATION OF ANDROID AND APPLE FANBOY(or girl) DIPLOMACY:
Thou shalt read articles on Engadget about thine non-favored platform out of interest, not to bash the OS.
Thou shalt not swear and insult over one's honest, polite opinions.
Pointing out every flaw in an OS is okay, but unnecessary.
Thou shalt not down-rank comments that solely express one's opinions, only ones in which the writer is being a dou***bag.
Derogatory terms are only to be used on those who fail to follow the above, not those who state their opinion.
if you agree with the above, uprank/repost.
@skidodo142 I'd uprank this if the last point was amended so that those who fail to follow the above get downranked, instead of called derogatory terms. We should try to be better than the trolls. Stooping to their level only feeds them and makes the comments less valuable for everybody.
@mondeca good point. feel free to repost with your own changes/amendments.
Got mine last night, auto update on top of my self-installed FRF72. TMo. Interesting, tmo doesnt know I have a N1. Seems faster than 72.
It looks like so far only people with old Froyo are getting the new Froyo. Anybody on Eclair getting upgraded? Do all of the Froyo-ers go first?
Rumor has it on Android forums, etc., that the regular Droid will get the update in "Late July." Sucks, I was kind of hoping for it in ~2 weeks.
I've got 2 Verizon lines so I think I'll upgrade one of my lines to the Droid X once it gets Froyo in August / Sept.
Got it!!.. the official Froyo OTA :-)))
Build Number: FRF 83
Model- Nexus One
Country/Carrier- India/Idea
Woohoo :D
@suketutalekar
I find it very funny that India has gotten the OTA update, but Canada, which is glued to the U.S. still hasn't received the OTA update.
Ok just got home and updated.
What I have to report is that Available Memory seems to have increased.
When I was running 2.1 it was around 180-189M.
Same services running after updating to 2.2 FRF72 it was around 220M.
Now on FRF83 I'm getting 250M!!!!!
Anyone else seeing this?
update the incredible!!!
What improvements are there from 50 to 72 to 83, other than the version numbers?
Has anyone gotten the OTA update her in Dallas TX? I haven't : -(
OK someone pleeeeeaassseee help me understand...I just got an AT&T NX1 today, it has 2.1 (I was a bit bummed) but when will I be able to get the update? I can't make heads or tails of it anywhere on the web!?
