Poll: is your iPhone 4 retina display seeing yellow spots? (update: losing bars in the hand?)
Out, damned spot! out, I say! One; two: why, then, 'tis time to do 't. Hell is murky! Fie, my lord, fie! Reports are coming in from some of those lucky early iPhone 4 users that there may exist a not-so-lucky yellow coloration in the bottom right corner of the IPS LCD. We haven't seen this ourselves on any new iPhones, but maybe you've had different experiences. Tell us, is your iPhone 4 seeing yellow?
Update: As a number of readers have pointed out, there seems to be an issue with how many bars are displayed on screen -- perhaps even a correlation to how it's being held in the hand. According to Walt Mossberg's review, Apple has acknowledged the issue as something that has to do with "the way the bars are presented, not the actual ability to make a call," and that a fix is forthcoming. Indeed, as noted in our review, we've had "far, far fewer dropped calls than we experienced on our 3GS." We're not seeing very many videos showing more dropped call, but the bar change is interesting. Still, to be sure, we're adding another poll.
Update 2: Our iPhone 4 purchased in Japan has a pale yellow bar along then entire bottom edge. Picture after the break.

| Yes, but somewhere else on the screen | |
| Nope, my iPhone 4 screen is fine | |
| Either my FedEx guy isn't so nice or I just remembered I hadn't ordered one anyway |
| Yes, but I don't seem to be dropping any more calls (than usual, at least) | |
|---|---|
| Yes, and I'm dropping more bars than usual | |
| Not seeing any difference in how reception is displayed | |
| ...nope, still don't have an iPhone 4 |

Got mine delivered the 23rd pre ordered from Apple. No signal drop no matter how I hold it and not even the slightest hint of yellow. I couldn't be happier.
Calm down! Those spots will disappear all by themselves:
"Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow "blotches" will disappear."
How do I know? I was involved in pitching Z-6011 to Apple.

Those Apple f***ers should die. F***'em. Meheh. Highest Ranked.
How much more hatred can you guys produce?
Well, after waiting for like almost 6 hours, it was well worth it, even though I still think it was crazy... anyhow, the iphone I got does not seem to exhibit any of the issues plaging other users. No yellow screen issue and no bar dropped, no matter how I handle the phone...

Engadget make some research and then post!
Why did 34,000 people that don't have iPhone 4s bother to vote in the poll?
@aardWolf
So that they could see the results. At least the poll ended up that way. There are so many infallible opinions expressed on this site I'm shocked the 34,000 voters didn't lie and say they had the worth issues just to make the opposition squirm.
No problems with the screen.
No problem with the antenna, since I hold it in the right hand with loose fingers - rather than cupped tightly. I didn't even notice the dropped signal issue until someone else mentioned it. If I could it FIRMLY in my left hand (not loose - I have to really press on the side with the whole palm of my hand) then I start to lose bars.
been testing out my iphone for a few hrs..i have none of these issues
Pretty shocking how polarizing this Apple Vs. Non-Apple issue is.
Can't we all just get phones?
OK this time apple really failed.. no doubt..
Much ado about nothing. I personally don't count bars before making a call. I make/answer the call and swear if it is dropped, then I look at the bars. My iPhone 3GS was constantly dropping calls in my office, which is the main reason I got the iPhone 4. Glad to say this lefty has not dropped a call yet on the new phone. We'll see if the streak holds - I doubt it given everyone on ATT's network who comes to the office, regardless of what phone they use, drops a call or 2. So, in the short time I've had the phone, it's performed better than my 3GS.
As for yellow spots, what yellow spots?
THIS IS SOOOOOO ANNOYING.....
Orange UK say they do not take returns.
Apple pretends there is nothing faulty
I want to return my iPhone4 and get a Galaxy S, but Orange will not give me a refund, and Apple did not take my my money so they cant give me a refund either.
WTF????
