@FrankDTank July 14th cannot come soon enough... My damned stupiidity by going to radioshack... "yeah you'll be in the system at 1 PM and get a phone on the 24th!" stupid motherf****ers... ANYWAYS are these problems that could be fixed for future models?
@kingofwale I know manufacturing adhesives previously working at an adhesive company. Apple (more correctly Foxconn, though Apple issued the spec) used an adhesive of ours in the camera on the iPhone. For all I know they are in more areas of the iPhone 4 by now.
Anyway, applications like this are typically "insta-cure" through a UV light process. Also, new tech allows the adhesive to color-change in order for a factory worker to know they have done their job correctly (the color-change was only available on about 10% of products when I left 2 years ago but it was brand-new at the time). Either way, if they are using top quality adhesives and doing their job right, this shouldn't be the issue. Though they were adhesives that wouldn't be made to insta-cure, I don't think this would be the product Apple would've used that in their spec.
@BrookLynnsFinest Comparing a phone to a deity.....wtf go join al quaieda or something with that level of blind faith, you might succeed at something in life.
@n0ne Hell if you know that hundreds of thousands will preorder and a couple thousand more will buy on launch day, who gives a damn about adhesive drying processes. Apple just mad more money in a week than I ever will and with zero questions asked! BUT as long as it goes away is it really that bad? Other than the antennae issue (which I agree, is bad, although I'll be splurging on that ever-so-expensive bumper) apple did pretty well. Take no offense people of android, but at least the screen isn't coming off. (knock on wood)
@ddicted YES!!!! I have multitasking and fast app switch on all my essential apps except engadget and textfree. (angry birds updated last night!!! Yay!) COME ONE ENGADGET I'M TIRED OF LOSING MY SPOT EVERYTIME I GET A TEXT. Sorry for the caps... Don't send me to oblivion!!!! Nooooooooooo......
@N900 Exactly. Small problems that can be fixed or just aren't big enough to make a damn difference don't affect me. (the signal problem however does bother me slightly, I hear it doesn't occur with the bumper on?) and the EVO's screen, how bad can it be? You have to TRY to get it to move right?
@Btbessey Yes, I've heard that using the Bumpers on the side of phone will increase the reception. There's even a video I saw where a person used a 3GS case.
@juanvaldez 2nd thought and re-read, I'm almost surely talking about different technology if he's right.While I don't know the compound he refers to, he'd surely know if it was instant-cured or not. Then again, we have to take him at his word.
If he is well-informed, he's posting way too much info on the interwebs and might have a boss that's non-too happy because his boss surely should keep up with the news and if he happens to come across any of these re-posts then he'll put his sales people under the screws to find out who leaked info. This industry is fairly competitive, even if they are unsung heros. If Apple is getting a bad name and losing any sales due to the curing process their competitors will have more information when the next application comes up to spec.
@BrookLynnsFinest Your dumb as hell.. He was referring to the iGod statement.. Why would you compare something that has numerous flaws, shortcuts, and bugs to God? Yes you can argue its the best phone out.. But comparing a phone to God is not funny its ignorant and blasphemy.. Reread the comments idiot
@vqro you need to calm down and stop trolling every post to bash apple haters. Android fans make fun of iphone screen and apple fans make fun of evo screen and everyone is even.
@NextGen (CAUTION: Poor agitation when adding Dow Corning Z-6011 silane to water can result in locally high concentration that may form gel particles.)

Maybe some devices got too much magic installed and it's leaking out. The magic always wears off after a few days and it suddenly hits you how much you've spent on a f*ing mobile phone.
HP has had plenty of time to fine-tune its finger-friendly TouchSmart software, and now, its newest model, the TouchSmart 610, ushers in a fresh design, highlighted by a hinge that allows the display to slide down and lie nearly flat.

@angelusp
I'm no expert of manufacturing.
but don't you need to wait for the adhesive to DRY before you shift your final product to the consumer??
I suppose Apple will turn this into a positive as well.... maybe how great the demand is?
*sighs*
@BrookLynnsFinest No one was even talking about Android. *hits report button*
@FrankDTank Free of all negative crap, except for the user.
@N900
feel free to hit that button all you want. This guy is attacking Frank because he likes Apple/iPhone OS.
He clearly is an Anti Apple person....
And most of you Anti Apple people are fandroids.
Hence why I mentioned android. Now shut up with your holier than thou attitude.
@BrookLynnsFinest Dude, I'm not even in the mood today. Not even...
@angelusp
The yellow spot is just a the trapped ghost of the Foxconn worker who assembled it. Don't be afraid, it will evaporate in a few days.
Wow iscaird you are actually serious. Dear God save me from your followers.
@BrookLynnsFinest Wow, defensive...no words...
Anyone else know what "extensive testing" means? Someone tell the fellas at Apple.
@BrookLynnsFinest
In psychology, I believe this is called "Projection", which means one tries to extol their anger on a seemingly helpless target.
So you're trying to project your holier than thou attitude on another and hope that they act that way so you can point out "SEE? I WAS RIGHT".
@r34p3r
WOW!!! Why are you talking like that?
@kingofwale I know manufacturing adhesives previously working at an adhesive company. Apple (more correctly Foxconn, though Apple issued the spec) used an adhesive of ours in the camera on the iPhone. For all I know they are in more areas of the iPhone 4 by now.

@FrankDTank
80% of the apple keynote was about the "strong" body, "awesome" display and the "cleverly" designed antenna
one broke, other turned yellow and the rest blocked the signal.
@r34p3r
WOW!!!! Is this language really necessary?
@Kfitzpat
BrookLynnsExchange often calls people dipshits. :V
@coolkams03 Did you watch the keynote at all? Because those three were about 5% of it at most.
@BrookLynnsFinest Comparing a phone to a deity.....wtf go join al quaieda or something with that level of blind faith, you might succeed at something in life.

@Btbessey Inversely, lots of people are still getting the EVO regardless of it's own screen problems...
@ddicted

@coolkams03 Lmao...yup

@angelusp Nice. So droidboys can eat it! One less thing to bash.
@Btbessey Yes, I've heard that using the Bumpers on the side of phone will increase the reception. There's even a video I saw where a person used a 3GS case.
@NoNameAtAll
Isn't that great!
@angelusp
If someones god tells them to blow themselves up killing others, why can't he idolize his iPhone? I love mine...
Didnt someone come up with the theory that Engadget likes to spread rumors and then find a way to make them go away?
Hmm..
@Btbessey It's not a fix. It's a new feature! Lol
@Kfitzpat
Call him out on it every time. BrookLynnsFinest I mean :P
@kineticdamage
Wow...
Am I horrible for laughing my ass off at that?
@Vdek
you are delusional
@Btbessey
Last time I checked the screens lifted enough to see enough light to tell it was even happening... Not "coming off".

@FrankDTank So for all those stupid hater douche-bags that were laughing at the yellow spots: SUCK IT ASSHOLES!
@FrankDTank I think it is ok to put i in front of god. I have heard much worse. Plus, isn't this the god of i products.
@BrookLynnsFinest Your dumb as hell.. He was referring to the iGod statement.. Why would you compare something that has numerous flaws, shortcuts, and bugs to God? Hopefully the evaporating Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 isn't toxic.
@vqro
you need to calm down and stop trolling every post to bash apple haters.
Android fans make fun of iphone screen and apple fans make fun of evo screen and everyone is even.
@Btbessey Silly comment. You made that up? Or you do have evidence of a god or God asking that people be blown up?

@Btbessey lol. True. But this might be the revenge of Foxconn, suicides weren't enough, lets f**k up their manufacture muhahahahaaa!!!
@Btbessey
@blackacex222
Same here works great for me. These people are just hating because thier EVO is falling apart.... Cheap HTC phones.
