Red Flag Software's just shown off a custom MeeGo tablet that's China-bound. Though we don't have any images of the unit yet, we know that the NPad be a Moorestown-powered, 10.1-inch touchscreen tablet that "looks like" the iPad, and it'll boast WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS. The company also says that it'll be cheaper than the iPad, so there's that!
As others on the maemo and meego forums have noted, the Tablet UI for MeeGo is not out yet. There's also no information beyond a photo in a menu that looks distinctly like Maemo 5's application grid.
I'm calling shenanigans and China until more solid details come to the surface.
@microlith With you on that one microlith, I call BS. This is probably some kirf-ed up version of the source code. It's using Nokia's icons for goodness' sake.
Hope the platform will be able to compete with the likes of Android - Intel is a good PR boost for Nokia, but its so hard to compete with the likes of Google.
Like already said i suspect something like Nokla here. Anyways i think i'm buying the hw using MeeGo from Nokia using OVI services or other blessed hw manufacturers that uses Intels AppUp.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
MEEGO FTW!
@Revolutionary
Agree, MeeGo looks amazing
@ASRRGR VIDEEOO TIIMEEE
@Revolutionary Cheaper than the iPad?! And considering its a Meego device, I'm expecting it to run flash. If thats the case, WE FOUND A WINNER!
WHAT UP!
MeeGo... it's like Moblin, but all grown up.
And without the name based on a Zelda enemy.
@statickeith
legen... wait for it.. dary..
@aiq I'm glad someone knew about HIMYM on Engadget! Barney FTW!
@statickeith Flash runs horribly on Meego right now though.

@microlith
It hasn't been finalized, but this, AFAIK, is the latest video running a pre-alpha build of Meego.

I don't think that looks right though, unless Nokia has its own Meego tablet idea too (sorta like the Intel Meego vs. Nokia Meego for phones.)

Not to mention Apple.
@kenosando
Buy American...
@vpuik
you sir, should buy a toyota then coz it uses more american parts than ford or chevy.
but wait... you listen to limbaugh..
I just hope that the manual has instructions on how to hold the device properly.
I'm thinking its NOKLA not Nokia
@1q2w3e4r "Though we don't have any images of the unit yet,"
check the facts Jack. To oblivion ye shall go.
@kenosando
what ?!?!
the fact that they don't have images proves that its real ?? and who is making it ??
...
idiot
If I would get a tablet, it would be running MeeGo. I still want it to be on quality HW though...
@microlith, good point, so more than likely its a fake or running Meego without full tablet functionality.
I agree a good HW platform with a proper Tab version of Meego would get my hooked, at least based on what Meego demo videos have shown us so far.

Ive got a 3G with rogers here in ontario, And I can say that I HARDLY have any dropped calls. So the iPhone 4 will just make sure i dont have any :D
@DamageCase
If you hold it right... :)
It has 'pad' in the name. It must be the new trend. Lowercase 'i' would have been too obvious.
@rotarydialz
Yeah because no one ever thought of calling these "pads" before Apple.
(Although, in Star Trek, they spelled it "padd" with two "d"s.
U.S release? When?
This may be dumb to ask but why is there an iTunes icon on there?
Love those few icons that have been ripped straight of Symbian :D
