IE is still a fantastic browser on many levels and so are each rother browser:
IE > Opera
Opera > Firefox
Firefox > Chrome
Chrome > Safari
Safari > IE
See what I did there? it's all personal taste. Is a Toyota Corolla better then a Mazda 3?
I LOVE Chrome! It's so much better than internet explorer, and Firefox (IMO). Safari on PC is O.K. , but it's much better on a Mac. Chrome ROCKS!
I "SEZ" Engadget writers are morons
I like the "sez" in the title/ That's cute, engadget it's cute. lol but in all seriousness looks like apple's starting to get competition on all ends!
meh! All these suck.the only ones that don't suck is firefox and opera.
Out of curiosity I check how the statistics are for over here in Europe. Was quite surprised that altough there are some big similarities (IE first, then FF, then Chrome), yet how different the picture is. Especially the difference between Safari in the US (8.2%) and Europe (3.89%).
If anyone else cares here are the two graphs:
US/NA: http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser-na-monthly-201006-201006-bar
Europe: http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser-eu-monthly-201006-201006-bar
Haha. Take that Apple. I still use Firefox. Tried Google Chrome a few months ago. Wasn't impressed. May have to give it another try.
Chrome sucks potatos
i use opera but its always nice to see apple products fall behind!, next stop, android share pass iphones share!
I meant potatoes. Chrome cursed my spelling.
I guess the iPhone browsers aren't making a big enough dent---that's a shocker. Jobs is acting like iPhone browsing (via iPhone and iPad) is the only browsing that matters any more. I guess the rest of the world didn't get the memo.
@jshamlin
this survey doesn't include mobile browsing
chrome is awesome.
I saw in a Google chrome video you do not need admin permissions to install chrome...
Chrome is based on Webkit.
In other words, Chrome is Safari in a dress.
C.
I switched to Chrome because it is faster than a potato.

I prefer Firefox on my Windows machine and Safari on my Mac. Safari is a lot less bloated on a Mac and works great for me now that it supports extensions. But all of that aside, what disturbs me from reading this article is that 1 out of evey 2 Internet users obviously don't know that other browsers exist, or do not know what a browser is at all. I typically avoid "hating", but I make this one exception when it comes to IE. :p
Chrome is awesome, I made the switch from Firefox to Chrome a few months back when Chrome got extensions and have never looked back. It is a great browser I love how it updates automatically in the background without me having to basically install a new browser everytime ala Firefox
The Pale Moon version of FF is very fast.
go chrome chrome gooooo :)
Nothing like Safaris driving on designated private roads, Chromes zig-zagging across streets, and those I.Es hogging the public traffic!
