Time names Engadget one of the best blogs of 2010
Here at Engadget, we keep our noses to the grindstone and try not to worry too much about awards or recognition. Still, it's always nice when we are recognized, so we were pleasantly surprised to see that we've been named one of Time's 'Best Blogs of 2010.' We were especially happy to see our recent redesign (which we are extremely proud of) given a nod. Needless to say, we're incredibly proud of the work we do here with our ever-expanding team. Hit up the source to check out the whole list.

i want to be happy for you guys but aren't you the same site that likes to tell us how completely out of touch the main stream media is these days? Seriously, you are on a list along side 'The Daily Kitten' and 'The ____ my kids ruined'.... I love the site but really don't think this award should go on the fridge.
Cheeky, insidery fellas indeed :o)
great job Engadget!
Bravo! Bravo! Keep up the good work!
been reading for 6 years now, and it keeps getting better. keep it up! also, loving alt.!
Yeah but they put Boing Boing as an essential blog, invalidating the entire list.
@glamajamma
Still think this is an awesome blog.
I love the content and the redesign is nice but you guys still have some work cut out for you. Here are a few suggestions:
1) Your site loads SLOOOOOW! I understand the need for ad revenue but considering how often one has to reload your pages, all the Flash crap really starts to get annoying. I am not a website designer but surely you guys can figure something out.
2) How about formatting your site for widescreen monitors. I'm getting pretty tires of all these sites with massive voids on the sides of the screen. Of all things, I'd think a tech blog should acknowledge that 4:3 monitors are a thing of the past. It's not the best performing site, but I recently stumbled onto a redesigned HBO.com and it really blew my mind from a design standpoint.
3) Please bring me back to the article I was trying to comment on after I log in! This seems like a no-brainer, but for some reason when I log in from within an articles comment section it takes me to the stupid hub with no obvious or apparent way to get back to the article besides hitting back a few times (forcing those annoyingly long page loads in the process).
So, sorry to rain on the parade because I love Engadget and read it religiously on desktop and phone. I'm sure you got the award because your posts are generally smart, informative, and entertaining but from a design perspective you definitely have room to improve.
And does Engadget name Time as one of the best magazines of 2010?
