The world of corporate cheap shots has today been enriched in its number with one supersized ad for one supersized phone.
BGR reports that Motorola took out a full-page spread in the
New York Times on this final day of June, which was ostensibly dedicated to promoting the positives of its mighty Droid X. But Moto has
also followed in the
footsteps of Nokia in making a not so subtle jab at the latest
king of the smartphone realm. According to the ad, one of the most important things about the Droid X is that:
"It comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls."
Glad we got that established -- next Moto will be telling us the alarm clock on its phones works just fine too. Skip past the break for the untrimmed ad.
After CR did their testing , they have every right to knock the iPhone antenna issues.
haha i find it funny that while eveybody has thier voice on a subject, they alsmost misuse it to undermine another persons opinion. for example, you have no right to, pick a side, and talk about others like you have first hand experience. an example, first comment. this ad holds water because the droid can make calls. bullshit, every goddamn phone on the earth can make calls, i have an ihone 3g an old predecessor to the iphone 4 and have not lost a single call, so to say and upgrade would, make it worse? you are ether lying through your goddamn teeth, or eliving somthin somon told you. keep you damn facts straight.
No one even cares about the droid x i was in a verizon store today and the only comments made about the droid x was negative
@jaffreywali
not surprising, really. it still stands that the only worthy adversary to the iphone is the htc evo. over the years, i've owned phones from almost all manufacturers and found motorola's to be generally overpriced and poorly made

Its so funny how all the Apple bashing comments get ranked up and anyone else with even a slightly higher level of maturity or displaying any common sense gets down-ranked.
No, wait. Its not funny. Its sad.
Meh... I like my iPhone 4 just fine. I don't ever seem to have a problem with the antenna. I haven't dropped a call yet.
Funny thing. You do have to watch where you hold it. Well, it's not like it can't hold a call. The bars can go down, though.
Can anyone else see the sad faces on the Engadget editors as the iphone 4 is, more and more, revealed to be what it is - a posing toy for those who don't actually need to use a phone as a - like - phone?
(and I have an iphone 3gs and it's a cool gadget but a terrible phone)
