Prompt-It iPhone teleprompter perfect for business meetings, Internet cranks

What did JFK, Obama, and Martin Luther King Jr. all have in common? If you believe the makers of You Prompt-It!, it's the ability to use a teleprompter. And now you can join the pantheon of important Americans who inspire us regular schlubs to greatness. What does your $130 get you? Tripod, base, beamsplitter glass display, and a carrying case. Fits your iPhone or iPhone-esque device, and will sit comfortably on your laptop. To get that scrolling text effect, the manufacturer suggests that you check out the PROPROMPTER app from the App Store. What are you waiting for? We're quite frankly getting sick of all the hemming and hawing on your YouTube rants. Maybe now you can start winning people over with your "Larry King is an alien from the future" message -- it's worth a shot at least. A video, of sorts, after the break

That looks ridiculous. What a waste.
@Rudolphe22 Would it work with Obama's BlackBerry?
@Spectrality Obeezy never talks without a teleprompter.
@Sea Urchin Obeezy, that's a good one
Ha! There is an app for that!
FOURTH!
With the new front facing camera, I'm sure there will be a bunch of teleprompter apps. Camera records you, notes on the screen...done.
@BrandonHarris but your eyes look on the display, not in the cam. Different with such a teleprompter setup, which is placed in front of the Webcam, thus you look straight in the cam while reading.
the video for this has so much potential for humor that the product almost doesn't matter..though you would laugh at anyone for using one.
who can read that tiny text???
@furmandude2059 everyone, or can't you read text on a Smartphone at a distance of, let's say 30cm? It's for home use, e.g. you want to record a YouTube video. Then you place the glass in front of your Webcam, thus, while reading, your eyes look straight in the Webcam.
@Crank when I hear "teleprompter" I didn't think of youtube
Lol, they could at least INCLUDE the app with your purchase!
@TheTabe true, and make an automatic scrolling text which recognizes where you are at the moment. Else it's a bit useless in my opinion and expensive.
@TheTabe It's not their app to sell.
@engadgetcomexcludeengadget
I'm well aware of this... My point is that they should either develop their own app for it and include it OR form some type of partnership with the makers of that app and include it...
It's "Umms and *Uhhhs*", not "Ahhhs". Unless they're touching themselves, farting, or undergoing an epiphany.
Ahhh, that felt good.
Uhhh, did it really?
Uh-huh, it did.
Uh-uh, no it din't.
You comparing Obama to JFK and MLK? I think I am gonna puke! Obama is a towel...
Nice gadget, need it for my next interview ;)
I believe real prompter has focusing mechanism to project texts on inifinite distance.... that's how HUDs work.
