Nexus One gets yet another Android 2.2 Froyo update, FRF91
Another day, another Froyo build. Now that Android 2.2 build FRF85 -- i.e. the big one that got pushed over-the-air to every Nexus One this week -- is out on the prowl, Google's taken it upon itself to release yet another update, FRF91. We've heard from a few tipsters that it's also going out OTA, but our devices have yet to be notified -- all the same, a direct link for the file has been found, so it's legit. Word on the street is it's just a security update, but we've yet to install it ourselves. Go on, live a little, download's just below.

Congrats guys.
@Ninetysix
Sweet.
@beesneazy
can we get an update for the droids or the ally? 2.2 is amazing but its in a monopoly by the nexus one...
@Ninetysix Now engadget needs to re-review the nexus one.. is it still a 7/10 phone? Was it really ever a 7/10 phone?
@Ninetysix
SOURCE SEEMS TO BE BROKEN. PLEASE CHECK THE LINK.
USING CHROME DEV>
@MrStacy
This is why the numerical score was a stupid idea...
@MGore32
hah to be fair I have the Evo ... so I'm not seeing much love either. waiting for access to the recent OTA. -_-
@coolkams03 - Just edit the URL it takes you to... Not rocket science.
@Ninetysix
F*ck, when will this ends? again another 2.2 update? they should release the lastest and thats all.
I think that will slow Droid to get FROYO.
@Ninetysix
So much froyo...its causing diabetes! lol.
Also, for anyone looking for instructions on how to do a manual update here is a good link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712983
@MrStacy
i dont have anything intelligent to say, other than mr stacy is so right, its stupid. Engadget, please RE-review the nexus one, it seriously makes sense to do it.
@beesneazy - As he holds his AT&T frequ'ed, Froyo Roided, 1ghz Nexus One in his left hand while surfing azz loads of flash enabled web sites. Why wait for an iFruit 5 redesign when this hot azz phone is staring you in the face. And this is Google's own branded baby so the updates will always hit it first. Oh, did I mention that Brazilian babes have hot arses? FLASH 2 TIMES!!
@Frankenstein Black
???
@MGore32
You mean somebody actually bought an Ally? Seriously?
@MGore32 that's why I got the N1 instead of the droid :P
@Ninetysix I got this. Not sure whats the difference thoug
@MrStacy Not a 7/10 I suppose, more like a 9.9?
best phone.
@wakeup
Every other Android phone is a joke. Dunno why anyone would buy anything but the Nexus One. Bloody manufactures think they can take their own sweet time and release updates after a year, after the next two updates are already out. And don't tell me to use some crappy unpolished custom build. Homebrew sucks, period.
@Kurian I have Froyo with Flash on me DROOIIID right meow-
@Kurian
N1 was good, but newer phone has better option and hardware. The update will eventually release to every new phone that came out this year. Also N1 is a Google exclusive so it have to come to them first and I don't mind.
So does this patch something or what?
@EggoEspada
No, actually it rolls your Nexus one back to Android 1.0. Surprise!
@Dafrety ha ha
Nice. Hopefully this will clear up a few issues I've had.
@Dafrety
Agreed. I have noticed issues with maps and the wireless hotspot feature on FR85. Kind of disappointing. Anybody else had problems?
@sthroop streaming audio from pandora and last.fm sounds terrible now in froyo. i emailed pandora about it and they said they're not sure if the problem is on google's end or their end. they know for sure the 2.2 changed the way android handles streaming audio though
@timchoi89 idk for me it sounds fine and the same.
@timchoi89
Pandora now has a setting to allow high quality audio streaming over mobile network, make sure its checked. One problem I do have is not resuming streaming after Google maps navigation gives me a direction or after a phone call.
@Dafrety
I haven't had any issues. I wonder what this update fixes exactly. But I'm not complaining for 910KB of download.
I wonder about all those who are not getting their OTA if they ever connect to a Wifi router. My phone stays on the WIFI all night and in the morning I see it has an update ready. Also I'm neither in the US or Europe, more like on a small island in the indian ocean so no favoritism here
Please sir...could you spare a little froyo for my poor evo...please sir...*single tear falls slowly*
@almarmada yeah no kidding! Im dying over here. Come on Sprint/HTC, get it together!
@almarmada
Don't forget the Incredible :D (almost the exact same thing as the Nexus One so HTC should be on top of this :D )
@CadmarHuxtable Dude it's been a week since FroYo source was officially released and so far the only phone to get it has been a phone that Google sells itself. Chill.
There's nothing to get together, they haven't had long enough to make let alone test an update thoroughly. When its been 2 months, then there's something to get together.
@almarmada i hear you! cant wait for 2.2 on my evo
@almarmada I have a nexus one and nothing has been pushed ota to me....
@almarmada
i feel for ya bro, i feel for ya
@almarmada Beg to Sprint, and see if they care.
@jschaeff me neither!! Bah! :(
@peta I haven't gotten any update yet either!
Hopefully by tomorrow. They said "by the end of the week".
@jschaeff
Agree with the poster who mentioned wifi. I was on wifi all last night and I noticed an update this morning
SWEET!!!
@SomeGuyAtSomePlace
Wats the difference
all i want for my Nexus is the 2.2 update :( I have yet to receive the 2.2 OTA and they keep giving some nexus owners more updates
@mflynn What's stopping you from doing a manual update?
@mflynn
You can d/l the official build yourself and self-install it. That's what I did on Sunday when I was too eager to wait for the OTA. Look for the link in the Froyo OTA article from a couple of days ago.
@mflynn I did the first update manually and it was pain in the ass. I'd much rather have an OTA that I don't have to pray will not brick my phone,
\Still waiting though. I've half a mind to wander into a t-mobile store and find out what the heck is up. Perhaps I'm not on the list because I paid cash.
@mflynn How the heck do you get the OTA I couldn't count how many times I have checked for the update manually! This is getting ridiculous, just had dinner and I want dessert!
@redrocco That's the problem, I use *#*#CHECKIN#*#*, check for system updates (settings>about phone>System Updates) and I see nothing
@coitis1 I'll probabyl end up doing that. I have my N1 rooted, so its no problem taking a nandroid backup and loading 2.2 I was hoping the OTA was going to occur so I wouldn't have to do that
