BlackBerry 6 teased again in new official video
There have been rumors that the first volley of BlackBerry 6-powered devices could launch as early as last month -- but seeing how we're still empty-handed, we may as well enjoy more high production value video pimping the biggest new features, right? RIM has published another official YouTube spot on BlackBerry 6 today showing off goodies likes aggregated social network integration, universal search, and -- of course -- the all-new WebKit-based browser coming out of last year's purchase of Torch Mobile. Interestingly, this latest video continues RIM's trend of showing 6 running only on full touchscreen phones; we can't fathom that they'd abandon the form factor that made them famous, of course, but it's becoming more and more obvious by the day that we're going to see this launch on the rumored 9800 or something very similar to it. Follow the break for the full video.

nothing really earth shattering here...
I'm Waiting this for My Father. :D
Blackberry tried to tease us with just 6, and the world replied "is it in yet?".
@potretr No, I am your Father
@vstican have you ever used a Blackberry? This looks to be a 1000x better than previous attempts. This a huge step for Blackberry.
@vstican Yeah this is just pathetic.
@TheGadgetologist Yeah for a blackberry user (like myself) this is amazing! The UI is really cleaned up, less clunky, and looks way more integrated into the web!
@vstican
Remember its Blackberry...anything besides what they have is good i guess.
@vstican Looks kinda like the Android and iPhone OSes hobbled together to form something not as good as either of the original two.
@vstican At least now I can look at BBOS without vomiting for long enough to decide to get the incredible. lol
@potretr
maybe my Grandfather would like this, he's 80 something
@dudewholikesgadgets
Yeah, totally. I mean, it's clearly a rip off just look at the... erm... I don't know. But it's obviously copying SOMETHING.
Grow up.
@vstican Yeah, BlackBerry should have been here at least a year ago if they wanted to remain relevant. Developers don't want to develop for the platform and that right there makes them dead in the water.
@vstican Nothing earth shattering unless you're a diehard BB user and have been wanting the OS updated with these features... wtf is up with all the negative nancies around here?
Looks good, RIM.
@vstican And on the top of that a CGI video... pfff...
RIM, learn a bit from Nokias mistakes with the N97. Put some *real* things out there if you really want to convince someone.
Catchy music though :)
@vstican
cant wait for this update, although the current bb os does everything i need with solid signal strength and 2 day battery life...
hopefully this will get ported to the original tour
@dudewholikesgadgets
Go back far enough and you can see that they are copying someone else, and so on and so on until you go far enough back. They are all just copying the first people to use images and words to communicate, why don't they come up with something original. If there were copyright laws back during the creation of man....oh boy....I smell lawsuit. This is also assuming that back then they would know to keep extending copyright laws...
@vstican Can't believe they used a Okkervil River track for this kind of promo vid
Android 2.2, iOS 4, Blackberry 6 and Windows Phone 7
Ironic that the higher number the OS, the less advanced it is.
@vstican
LOAD "$",8
LOAD "BobbleBubble",0,1
@vstican
seriously? i am in love with this already. iOS and Android- prepare to be challenged by MeeGo, Symbian^n, Blackberry OS, WP7 and maybe WebOS too!
@sacguy "webOS 1.45.1, Android 2.2, iOS 4, Blackberry 6 and Windows Phone 7
Ironic that the higher number the OS, the less advanced it is."
Fixed that for you
@vstican I think the uniqueness alone is interesting enough to tempt.
@sacguy
Yeah, really??? How many releases did Android have before it's 2.2 release? WP7.0 is a clean start, so it is not a logical comparison at all…grow up fandroid
@crichton007 No kidding. Gosh, software keyboard and a series of...card applications to sort through horizontally. Not only are they late to the damn party but original too! Wonder where their dumbass CEO is with his "people don't want software keyboards" and "our OS rocks" now? They JUST got a Twitter client what, 2 months ago? Friggin' dinosaurs.
@INsano
You're missing the target audience of blackberries. I'd have to say that most of these devices are sold to big buisnises to give to their workers. Blackberries are by far the most suitible phones for business, which means social networking isn't prioritized over email intergration.
@boxieblue haha keep dreamin son. Google and Apple won't just sit back and let everyone catch up...
@GadgetFunkie you call him a fandroid and tell him to then grow up ? l think you should follow your own advice, calling people names seriously, how childish, lol ...
@NinjaMonkey
Commodore FTW!!!
@GadgetFunkie
Its phandroid, get it right lol
@vstican
You're right, but it may end up shattering iOS4! My Storm 2 says, "Hell yeah!"
@FNi This is easily the funniest comment on the internet this week.
@sacguy
getting better, not still not quite as good as Android IMO
@Xtole
Still not as good as Web OS, any of the iOS versions, Android after 2.0, or what WM7 should be.
@Xtole why are you trying to compare it to another os they're two different things with two different audience. It's like saying Bon Jovi is still not quite Bach.
@dcoke Bon Jovi and Bach are both considered "music" (although some may argue Bon Jovi is not). I'm comparing the BB os to Android in that they are both operating systems.
@Xtole im sorry, you're an idiot. if you couldnt follow that analogy then you shouldn't be making comments at all. id spell it out for you but i dont think you would still understand
@audrywienerdog
I would learn how to capitalize and punctuate before you start throwing out insults.
@audrywienerdog
Ahaha you got burned, Ouchh
Hmm
@MichaelJJackson Did you just grab your crotch?
@hq
I know I did. :o
too little too late
@bobcobb Yep, the app market is already split between iOS and Android. Adding WinPho7 and BB6 won't change that much.
@Shalabi WindowsPhone7 looks like it will be a bigger contender in the gaming applications then regular applications/fart apps. I doubt that iPhone/Android will beat xbox's game support.
However, Android & iPhone will kill the phone in normal applications because only a handful of people will bother porting their application to another phone OS unless microsoft pays them too.
Android and iPhone have really made this OS look terrible before it even arrives. I am not a fanboy of either but I think Blackberry has fallen way way behind. They should license their email and BBM systems out to Android and iPhone. If they become a software company too they would really solidify their place in the market for years to come!
@Jamesky Indeed.
@Jamesky
I think Android and Apple would be better off coming up with their own Enterprise Email Software, because Blackberry's is far from Perfect.. Just like everything else they put out...
Reminds me of Symbian, both function very well and do what they are supposed to, but IMO its just not quite there yet. Not sure what it is, maybe the UI isn't as polished or something.
