Google halting Nexus One sales through official store after current inventory depleted
We knew this was eventually coming, and here it is: Google is giving everyone the heads-up that it just got a fresh batch of Nexus Ones in stock, and once they've been sold through, they'll no longer be offered directly through the company's online store. For what it's worth, the customer service lines will stay open even after that happens -- and you'll still be able to buy a phone through KT in South Korea, Vodafone in Europe, and "possibly other [retailers] based on local market conditions" -- but by and large, your average American is going to have a hard time getting one pretty shortly. If you're a registered Android developer, though, Google's looking at continuing to offer the device through some sort of sales partner -- a wise move considering it'll be just about the only thing you can buy unlocked running a clean-slate latest build.

I hope there is a nexus two or something as I prefer the standard android UI to sense etc.
Hopefully HTC will stop trying to restrict what people can do, though the community will always find away so its not too bad.
I heard that TMobile US is goign to carry the Nexus Ones in store come September...
i love my nexus one
I am glad i got mine at release. Sad to hear they are not selling it anymore.
The Nexus One is going the way of the Kin. But at least it had a fuller life. Nothing compared to the Razr, but fuller nonetheless.
@Garst
No, it's not like the Kin. With the N1, you will still get updates and improvements for the OS as it's Google's reference phone for the Android OS. With the Kin, well, it's completely done for. Not the same.
It is a bit expensive for having already been out for a while.
I'd like to see the price drop a benji or two.
If I waited any longer though, I'm either screwed by getting an old generation phone when an N2 comes out, or screwed by not acting fast enough to get in on an endangered breed of phone.
@PorkchopFlavoredCupcake
You think the N1 is pricey? Have you checked the no-commitment price of the Palm Pre on Verizon? $599. Check prices of SE phones like the X2 or the Satio/Aino. The N1 will look like a bargain for what you get.
I've been playing with a Captivate for a week now and I'm very happy that my Nexus One arrived today. The Sammy just doesn't feel like a Google phone. The screen is very nice, but not a big enough difference for me to care about it. My Froyo update hit the phone about 5 min after I first powered it up. I really don't trust Samsung to do anything past 2.2, and don't forget that the carrier has to be good with updates too.
@Waltah Good choice as I highly doubt Samsung will update their device.
Can you ask Google if official Nexus One accessories will remain on sale in their store or do you need to buy them now? (Desktop Dock, Car Dock, extra battery)
I hope the online store keep selling Android phones online..... it's how I plan to buy my phone...
It's a shame, I had a nexus one and it was a great phone. I would have kept it if T-Mobiles service wasn't so wishy washy in most places.
