iPhone 4 proximity sensor fix in the works
If you think the proximity sensor on your iPhone 4 has been acting wacky, don't worry, turns out you're not crazy: Apple has just committed to fixing weirdness in the next software update at its press conference today. Problems have mainly revolved around the sensor failing to detect your face when you're on a call, leading to accidentally hang-ups, mutes, and so on as your ear makes contact with the screen -- not too cool. Then again, if you've been staying off your phone lately for fear of dropping a call, well... maybe you didn't notice.

Lots of good conversation surrounding this issue on http://whatsnottaken.wordpress.com
I have has three iPhone 4,s all of which the proximity sensor is busted. Same problems all of you experienced hitting the mute button, FaceTime calls, making other calls, and after all that hanging up in every call. I'll use my Bluetooth for now. It made me so mad when I kept calling apple and telling em it was a problem and they basically said ur crazy. Anyhow fix the problem cuz I love the iPhone 4 other than that. I have had no issues with the antenna even without a case. If I keep hanging up on every call I'm going to kick Steve jobs dog.
@deedeedee
You mean to say that all that bullshit that Steve Jobbs spewed out at the press conference actually fixed your phone, as if by magic? Maybe he isn't so bad, after all.
Proximity Sensor problem is a MUCH bigger issue to me and EVERYONE I know that has the phone. Hang-ups, speaker phone turn on, adding callers, etc.... I am scared to talk on the phone for fear something will happen.
Is it a hardware or software issue? Does anyone know for certain?
