Verizon leaks another Droid 2, getting BlackBerry Storm 3, Curve 3, 10.1-inch tablet later this year?
Now that the Droid 2 has officially reached "leaking like a sieve" status, we thought we'd toss you another couple shots of the Droid X's QWERTY-equipped cousin, which we're being told is locked for an August release on Verizon. If you're more of the BlackBerry type, though, we've got some news for you, too: our source is telling us that both a Curve 3 and Storm 3 are "possible" for the holidays this year. If we had to guess, the Curve 3 is likely a variant of this 9300 we've been seeing lately, whereas the Storm 3 could be a version of the 9800 slider or an entirely new keyboardless slate. There's also a 10.1-inch tablet on the docket; the carrier has already confirmed that Android tablets are in the pipeline, but this could also be a version of the rumored BlackBerry beast. More on this noise as soon as we get it; in the meantime, follow the break for another shot of that Droid 2, won't you?

Win.
Hurry up with Milestone 2 moniker too.
if its the push in glass for the tablet epic fail
what? a storm 3? is the strom 2 really that good?
I hate it's touchscreen tough
@RidEtHeLiGhTNiNg
Nope, and the Storm 1 was even worse.
But, like they say, 3rd times a charm.
iPhone = every year one phone.
Androids = 4-5 phones already this year.
Seems like a few of them are already outdated compared to the new ones. The only good thing is that people have a choice of a full qwerty or a touch screen. Other then that, there's too many to keep up with. No thanks, I'll stick w my iPhone 4.
@iZach
There are 4-5 new android phones in any given week.
@iZach
I wonder when options became a bad thing? Just because there is something available that you don't have doesn't mean you have to buy it, most people aren't that impulsive. Besides, depending on your needs you'll narrow down your search. Just like when you buy a computer, car, house, MP3 player, TV, etc...
Verizon is smashing competition! Literally hahaha droid x baby
How funny will it be if the storm3 only gets 6.0 and everyone else gets screwed by RIM lol
Gotta go with verizon when 4G hits. Can't wait. Need to leave at&t as soon as I can.
verizon sure has some issues at secrecy....
BTW can you imagine having a text carved on your droid 2 saying that its your own confidential property? that would be awesome!
OOh Verizon! Only if you could extend your network to Canada! I'd switch in a heartbeat!
Yeah it doesn't Drop bars when you hold it normaly
@TP for my Bunghole
As in Dorid DOESN'T drop your phone calls!! You failed badly, buddy!!
I think leaking details on a phone is a good strategy for Verizon, Motorola and HTC. I think they should continue to allow leaks to hype up the phone and sell them out like a storm.
@maythetechbewithyou Did the Storm sell out? I don't remember. lol
ATT's Galaxy phone releases yesterday and this just happens to leak today.............. Whoever is in charge of PR for Verizon should get a raise, Good move!
@Mofetti definitely
"what? Another article about verizon and an android phone? Gosh seems like engadgets showing their biased fanboy craze again"
;0)
@audrywienerdog
If ATT had anything anything interesting going on (beside their shortcomings) I'm sure they'd report it.
@xtacease Coming from a current AT&T and iPhone 5 customer, I couldn't agree more. Verizon is getting pretty exciting lately. Att isn't bringing the same excitement haha especially now that the iPhone thing is starting to become yesterdays news. Literally haha
@audrywienerdog
Yeah, only 12 more android/verizon articles and they'll be at parity with their Apple/iphone coverage.
@audrywienerdog iPhone 5? Either you're from the future or that was typo. If you are from the future, why would you still be on AT&T after both AT&T and Verizon are using LTE and can share devices?
@CapnShiner Haha I'm from
The future were AT&T owns everylong along with taco bell. Haha yeah typo
@audrywienerdog LOL @ the Demolition Man reference.
@CapnShiner Haha god damn I'm full of typos. I guess it's that early morning commenting.
Anyone want to buy me a evo or X so my iPhone 4 can have someone to hang out with and poke fun at all the other phones out there?
Which I have a feeling they would be making fun of eachother too.
Rearranging the three of the four buttons on the face is gonna screw with me all of release day. I can't wait =)
NO MORE TOUCH BUTTONS!
Laggy and unresponsive with frequent accidental input
@Awall
Sorry, but those touch sensitive buttons are a standard on Android phones now.
@Awall
Never found mine to be laggy and unresponsive, but don't despair the Droid X has physical buttons.
My gripe with these touch buttons is they mixed them all up again.
@Awall I find it kind of funny that the Droid X, which has no physical keypad, has physical buttons for Home, Search, etc. but the Droid 2, which has a physical keypad, has capacitive buttons for Home, Search, etc.
@TP for my Bunghole
We can't understand gibberish.
Just like I did with milestone : eFuse = crap phone
Ok, don't give a shit about the Dud 2. WHEN IS STORM 3 COMING?!
MOTO release some of your sexy Droid phones to Sprint 4 g
The picture with the QWERTY slid out really makes the color look like a darker blue than the HTC Titan (XV6800) on Verizon. Don't hate it, but black would have been better. Guess I'll have to see it in person when they ship mine on launch day.
I'm getting very sick and tired of all these good phones going to Verizon. I HATE YOU AT&T!! You are really not doing much good on competition! Not a SINGLE POWER DROID haven't even hits AT&T store shelves. JUST WISH I was with Verizon.
@Inspector Gadget80
Droid is the biggest competitor to the iPhone, so I'm sure they won't put out any of them that could even come close to competing with the iPhone -- at least until they loose exclusivity.
@Inspector Gadget80
You should look into the Samsung Captivate.
Sweet baby Jesus, thank god I just transferred to Verizon two months ago.
Droid 2 in AUGUST? OK, there are 31 days in August, and the first of those is only 13 days away. Can we PLEASE get a little more specific?
I would honestly love for this to his on or before August 5th, but I realize it's not likely. It'd still be nice to have a little more confirmation on the 23rd rumor.
@ckeegan
It's very likely. That should be when the 2.2 update rolls out for the Droid X as well.
I wish it had same keyboard layout as the HTC Touch Pro 2. I my opinion, that remains the best keyboard design on a smartphone yet.
@mados123 Completely agree, and yet, HTC has been too stupid to bring a Touch Pro2 with Android to the market for Verizon. Just stupid in my opinion, and we're not even hearing rumors of one in the pipeline for Verizon. No FCC filing, roadmap, nothing.
i hope they come out with an unlocked gsm version like they did with the milestone, except sans the unlocked bootloader. add t-mobile 3G and that just might be my dream phone
The end is nigh...
Seriously, is there ANY need for a D-Pad on a touchscreen phone?? Waste of space imo.
