Perhaps it is not so surprising that Microsoft have placed OneNote front and centre. Does anyone else comprehend how potent OneNote could be as a hub for transferring rich information between applications and resources? ... implemented properly it could certainly make "copy and paste" look a tad quaint. Being a microsoft core application it would naturally be welcome in the fully multi threaded multi tasking core of the OS. Perhaps we will see this at launch perhaps later but I can't imagine OneNote is there with no means to populate it or to draw information from it.
