iPhone headed for T-Mobile USA in Q3?
We hear so many iPhone-Verizon-tomorrow-OMG rumors that our nation's brave also-ran carriers hardly get a word in edgewise. While Sprint remains a total longshot, T-Mobile USA is an interesting proposition for the mere fact that it's a GSM network, though its 1700 / 2100 3G network remains ostensibly incompatible with the iPhone 4's existing radio. According to Cult of Mac, a "highly placed source" at T-Mobile let it slip that they've got an 80 percent chance of getting the iPhone in Q3. Now, that's an oddly specific number, and we have no idea what it's contingent on, or how much exactly this source knows. Basically, we don't know a lot here. Of course, the biggest evidence of this possible T-Mobile coup remains the statement from Deutsche Telekom's CEO in March, saying that the USA branch is hoping to get the iPhone later this year. We really don't know who or what to believe, but we do know one thing: if Apple decides to sell a T-Mobile USA iPhone, there's an 80+ percent chance it will tell everybody.

@lerxst
Oh I see, you're talking about Windows users. The largest group of cliff-jumping lemmings on the planet. In fact Windows users actually define "lemmings". You know what the #1 reason people give for using Windows is? "My friends all use it".
Why do you think the default Windows wallpaper is that picture of a nice green meadow? Sheep love grazing on grass.
@Cold Dead Fingers IM WITH YOU ALL THE WAY:DDDDDDDDDDD
@lerxst It looks like someone's been watching a little too much Disney. Lemmings don't commit suicide. And, even if they did.........they can swim.......but you resemble a Lemming a bit, after all, you do choose to follow what everyone else says. Lemmings are followers, which is what you are.
An idea, could a T-Mo iPhone be the "1st HSPA+ ready device", T-Mo keeps saying they'll have by the end of the year?
I hope these rumors are true. I've been on TMo for awhile but am getting tired of Android. A TMo iPhone wound be great, although AT&T has better 3G coverage, at least where I live.
T-Mobile customers would love to have the best smartphone on their network. I have been a T-Mobile customer for almost a year and I do love their rate plans and their service coming from New York City. I had Verizon (Too Expensive), I had AT&T (Terrible service) and now I have T-Mobile and I’m never looking back. I’m currently using a couple of phones Nexus One and Iphone 3GS on T-Mobile network. I love that option that I get to switch my sim card to another phone w/o a problem if I get bored with one of them. The only problem that I have is that 3GS only runs on Edge because it’s not compatible to the GSM that T-Mobile has. I’m hoping that T-Mobile not Verizon gets the Iphone later this year and I will be very happy to grandfathered my unlimited plan and tether my new Iphone toy the same way with the Nexus one! Nexus one is an awesome phone but nothing like the Iphone since I invested so much on applications at the Appstore!!! T-Mobile Rules!
WHY ON EARTH WOULD AT&T GIVE THE iPHONE TO T-MOBILE?!
First off, all the trade magazines rumors say T-Mobile is going belly up as soon as the end of the year, so why would they even bother? Apple needs to make a CDMA version and get them out to Verizon Wireless & Sprint. I would think that Sprint would be a great choice being it is the only carrier with 4G Technology and stays ahead of everyone else data wise. I have been in the cellular industry since the begining 31 years ago and in cell phone repair. I think Apple's FIRST priority is to get the bugs out of the new iphone 4 and make all models more user friendly, like maybe a battery that the consumer can change?
@CellPhoneFixer You must have gotten that T-Mobiles HSPA+ is faster than Sprints Wi-Max because Sprint has a limit of 6Mbps Down & 1Mbps Up while T-Mobile doesnt they currently deliver double those speeds. Also, If you actually took time to look at the financial reports from 2008 - Q1 2010 youll notice something different between Sprint & T-Mobile USA. Sprint has lost over 4 Million Subscribers within the last few years. T-Mobile is snailing, they are losing subscribers but gaining more back in the end. They sold 110,000 on Fathers Days alone they are at 33.7 million subscribers they have not actually lost any after you see the #'s. NEW President & CEO was chosen because he has been very successful on T-Mobile Germany & UK made them #1. Financials have been in a loss of thousands not millions & the dent isnt very big. So T-Mobile wont go out in 2011. They also plan on HSPA+ 42 in 2011 announced in June secretly at the managers meeting in Seattle. They also have been testing AWS-3 & another band in which they want pairing of in May for either 3G expansion or LTE. I currently have HSPA 7.2 in my area I am getting speeds of in the 3Mbp range. Once I have 21 my speeds will be in the 6 to 12 Mbp range.
I will believe it when i see it.

added info for some
VZ LTE network (4G) is GSM based, but it is 700mHz so hardware will still have to change,
and VZ country wide LTE change is going to take some time... only major citys are done.
______________
@Boom555 30 major cities are up for launch on November 15 covering about 100 Million POPS. However LTE will be much like T-Mobile HSPA+ in speeds due to Verizons set limit but a better PING for travel time & you cant take this phone to any carrier that has LTE as well in the future since now they have different bands & frequencies. Chip is already made but is thicker than the GSM/WCDMA chip used. Verizon will NO longer have unlimited data offerings as of July 29.
why oh why did you guys have to post this!!! for us mobile salesmen, the only question we will hear is, "I heard T-Mobile is getting the iPhone, is this true?" not much different than the previous, just swap the T-Mobile for verizon
yea go away iPhone! go away from Verizon! Droid X the king here, no more space for you! :D
P.S. Love my Droid X!
I sure hope T-Mobile gets it. Then maybe AT&T will be forced to lower there plans and save me a couple of bucks.
This or the Vibrant???
I heard from someone way up in Verizon in the New York area that they have the Iphone when AT&T contract expires. Not sure if this is horse crap, but two from verizon said it is true...
80% chance... sorta like there's an 80% chance of rain in April in Cupertino.... not going to happen.
Nice and concise website. I just visited one website - www.iphonesaccessories.net. You will find cheap and quick supply from that website. Just review and you will let you know.
