@SnowHawkMike
It was a direct, clear and entirely incorrect response to your question. Does that help clarify it for you? Or would you prefer to have wrong answers?
@Jack you are a ladyboy! High five!
@SnowHawkMike
Poetic statement. NOT ironic. :-s
Very Clever, I'd buy it..
Why don't they make one of these for the HTC Evo? Oh wait...
@uhhmoney because for example, when the screen seperation happened, they actually apologized and fixed it...
@dmcordova
the big difference here is that this affects EVERY iphone4.
production mistakes will always occur, but bad design is just... sad :(
Anything else other than "Apple" and "Antennagate"?
A bloody piece of vinyl eh...
Watching Steve's hour-long explanation (and the reference to "[our] engineers working tremendously hard...") conference again, is somehow wryly humorous now...
Cheers to the brilliance of this sticker.
Trolls ^ haha . If u actually had an iPhone 4 u wud no that there really is no antenna issue I've had one for almost a month now with now problems
@Airjord
I've talked to friends who have the issue. I have no clue why it is affecting some and not all. I wish Apple would tell us, you know they know.
Ha - coming from a self-proclaimed Apple fan boy - that is funny!
As a happy iPhone 4 owner, who doesn't find the antenna problem to be much of an issue, let me just say: this is hilariously awesome.
ha ha that is brilliant!
Bumper stickers are no longer exclusive to cars...
Is this the new iBandaid?
bla bla bla...
you guys make no sense, say all you want, no way I'd ever buy a windows phone after trying the new iPhone...
keep talking all you want... seems like that's all you can do anyway.. hahaa
the iPhone might have a flaw... windows phones will never make it even close to what the iPhone has ever been and is!
keep trash talking all you want. non sense
I'm not coming back to this site anyway, it seems like engadget got all ticketed off since the time it wasn't welcomed at the apple's keynote...
hahaa this website is so biased
@tispacchilemuse
Do you enjoy the tender touch of a man dressed in a turtleneck
@tispacchilemuse
Did your parents neglect you as a child? Is that why you feel the need to be a company's b*tch, for free no less.
I think I will buy this for my htc evo so I can show off to my iPhone buddy that my button is broken but theirs work :)
lol: steve fail, sticker win
APPLE SHOULD DROP THE PRICE OF THE IPHONE FROM (8GB) 3GS $50, IPHONE 4 (16GB) $99, IPHONE 4 (32GB) $179 THAT WHAT I THINK A COMPANY SHOULD DO IF THEY CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS BUT OOOO WELL SOON WILL SE STEVE JOBS MAKINK A NEW PRODUCT THE IS BETTER THEN ANY OTHER PRODUCT OUT THERE BUT IT WILL WORK THE SAME WAY AS OTHERS
@ZIXTO
Psss, your caps lock key is on.
Still trying to find the right place to put this sticker on my Palm Pre.
Have a few thoughts on that though

@kapryt
Your drinking the kool aid. Whereas MOST phones have the deathgrip the iphone has the death touch. It just works on the iphone. Its so simple, you just barely touch it with your finger and your signal goes away. Its magical.
That sticker looks a bit too much like the actual "End Call" button on the iPhone. Cue Apple legal in 3... 2...
I still find it hilarious how quickly and easily people ate up Steve Jobs words at the press conference "It happens to all phones see **posts video**" but they always neglect to see that in the videos they post A) the phones are being strangled to death, B) more often than not held in an awkward and unnatural position and C) they are showcasing antenna attenuation and NOT the issue the iPhone 4 has which is a bridging of 2 antennae and thereby shorting the antenna.
The fact that they eat up these things so easily is sickening. I read something like "Where was the demand for a recall with the Nexus One?? when you cup the bottom of the phone it loses signal too!!!" Not realizing that the answer why there was no recall demand was because WHO THE HELL CUPS THE BOTTOM OF THEIR PHONE IN REGULAR USAGE?
Anyways...more Apple fans please and less iPhanboys...iPhanboys are like Christian fundamentalists...Apple fans are just normal people with a preference.
@AbsoluteDesignz Also, note, that all iPhone 4s have this problem...which is a loss of about 20-30dB...
if you cared to look at the bar display charts you can easily see how a phone can lose 20 or 30dB and still have 5 bars....or if the signal is weaker (yet still 5 bars) it can jump from 5 - 0 rather easily...
It is not overhyped, it is not a smear campaign it is a fact.
Now I'm not one of those claiming you should return the phone (I don't think you should) But you don't have to lie and blind yourself to pure technological fact. The iPhone 4 has a design flaw...period...proven. I can guarantee you the iPhone 5 will have a different (if slightly) antenna design or a thin clear coating.
LOL. the sad thing is Apple could've have called this corner a "end call" button and apple fans would talk about how inventive and cool it is.
until my eyes view real data regarding how many phones are actually affected by the "grip of death" to the degree they are actually dropping calls, then all this gossip and fodder is irrelevant, offering zero value
@Eugene Rushmore
Cnet has a video showing that an attenna problem does exist. Whenever the guy holds the phone in his left hand his voice drops out. Quite funny actually that people pay out the butt for a phone that can't make phone calls; it is a question for sociologists to study I guess.
I may actually get this sticker, but I'm thinking it would be a lot better if it were to say end call and have the circle with a slashed line going through it, a la the no u-turn sign http://www.google.com/images?q=no+u+turn+sign&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=fgFJTLiLEYbksQPhnZhJ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCgQsAQwAA&biw=1338&bih=684
It should say "Turn into iPod Touch".
That's not ironic. It's poetic or sarcastic....
Ironic is a heart surgeon having a heart attack.
Jeez man....
Hey Darren,
We already established a few months back that you can't speak any language other than English - and you think that learning Mandarin is a waste of time. But instead of wasting time getting that eddy munster hair cut of yours - how about you concentrate on learning English correctly?
Ironic? God help the Queens English with practitioners like yourself.
"The only problem? This $4 add-on actually won't accomplish what it says in plain English."
Sooo, in that sense it's just like the iPhone 4?
Everybody repeat after me ...
This iPhone 4 antenna problem is not Death Grip ... but "A Single Finger Death Touch" !
That's true, but Apple is trying to steer away
I think KIRF's have better antenna design, anyway...
I'll like a sticker that says
"Death Star"
"he only problem? This $4 add-on actually won't accomplish what it says in plain English. "
It might? Vinyl *can* be electrically conductive, and if it is, then pressing that "button" would be no different than actually deathgripping your phone -- which will indeed end your phone call unless you're close to a cell tower.
Now that is magical.....
It actually doesn't say "end call" since iOS 4.0; it just says "end".

It's not a problem. It's a feature.
Still not sure what all the fuss is about.
I feel that Apple made a BIG mistake by announcing the cool design of the external antenna. This has caused people to touch where X marks the spot.
My old 3GS has the same issue, but no one has complained about that. The 3G had the same problem too. I've just tried the deathgrip on my mate's Blackberry Bold, and the same thing happens.
This is all fuss over nothing.
Sent from my iPhone 4
Make one that says "cant touch this"
Love it! but wouldn't a sticker above the "death grip" area, make it able to continue the call? Or am I completely off?
@Randomher0 Haha, I was too busy laughing at the image that I forgot to read the headline xP
Pretty good, the bandaid is much more hilarious though, mostly because it came first.
The hoops iphone owners will go through just to get their iphones to work properly. I've never seen a dumber bunch of idiots before.
I thought my idea was stolen as I posted the same thing today with the EXACT thought in mind. Apparently you'll thought of it first.
Why are people saying Engadget is pro-Apple/iPhone ? I think you'll are not. You'd never see this being posted on a pro-Apple site. If it was an actual apple site, they'd delete threads.
I got an explanation for Apple deleting threads related to Consumer reports - APPLE HAS A RIGHT TO DELETE THREADS.
Enough said. I'd never defend a company like that as it would only make me look stupid.
Now if apple deleted only offensive threads, or flame baits, I get that. You can just lock the thread. You don't have to delete "evidence". You only delete offensive material.
