Microsoft Kin gets a software update, still can't re-tweet
We're going to go out on a limb and guess that most folks haven't been losing sleep over the prospect of a Kin software update (or lack thereof), but those that have been constantly watching their One or Two for a bit of good news can now rest a little easier -- sort of. While the Kin has received a software update, it's not the previously talked about one that would add revolutionary features like Twitter replies and re-tweets. It does add a number of other more minor Twitter updates, however, including Twitter avatars and re-tweets from your contacts in the Kin Loop, and the ability to link your Twitter contacts to your Kin contacts. So, the update still leaves quite a bit to be desired. Kind of fitting, really.

Well I guess all 9 people who bought his phone will be slightly happy
@Console fanboy Actually closer to more than 9,000
I hoep they allocated extra server space in light of the coming slew of downloads. . .all 7 kin owners really can't afford to be kept waiting.
How do they know if it got a software update i feel bad for the rooster who bought one
As bad as sales have been, the Kin still sold 8500 of them, so these people need support. Of course they are the same people that don't know what a software update is and that the Kin is dead.
@Narutogrey where did you get that number? How many of those were actual sales and not freebees?
@Engadget Thanks for the irrelevant news about an irrelevant product.

Almost 10,000 users. But who's counting when it doesn't support your predisposed opinion about a product you haven't used.
@djguapo 10,000 users? Or 10,000 fans or "people who liked it"? I didn't click the link, but which is it? Cause there could be random people who just liked the page
@That guy 2 213,000 fans (http://www.facebook.com/KIN) and 9,700 users (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=152094602912)
And thanks for your useless comment.
They should have called it "the number 2". It failed because they called it the kin. I think there are lots of people out there more than happy to buy a turd.
The recent abundance of Kin coverage reminds me of dead rockstars and painters.
Ten times the hype once you kick the bucket.
