Sony's second retail Blu-ray 3D, Monster House, goes on sale September 14

Add one more to the list of retail Blu-ray 3D discs, now that Sony Pictures has put a date on Monster House. Due September 14, Sony Pictures' website currently lists the same special features included on the original Blu-ray release back in '06, which we expect to see included in the package, just like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and a similar $39.95 MSRP. Outside of these kids features, the Blu-ray 3D is looking very dry for the near future, while IMAX: Grand Canyon Adventure has been announced for October 26, we're still waiting to find out when Sony is shipping Open Season and Resident Evil: Afterlife, and when the other movies currently locked in as exclusive pack-in offers will go on sale.

Just FYI 3D is what killed Spiderman 4 with Raimi and McGuire. Raimi said he couldn't do a 3D version on Sony's schedule, so they fired everyone.

Besides, Spiderman wasn't filmed in 3D.

I'm also wondering if Monster House was done in 3D originally too. I don't think it was. Anyone?

@EatingPie No but as an animated feature you could easily add in a digital second camera to create the 3D effect easily.

omg i am still not giving a damn while i have to wear the fucking glasses in my house....i mean whoopdie do if its 3D...its the same movie it doesnt offer much i mean the entire reason i like 3D in a theater is the HUGE screen it makes the 3D like avatar had seem immersive that same 3D on a 36'' TV wont give the same feeling

i mean allot of people still havent gotten LCDs, its like the computer market,,,,why buy a PC now when you can save $100 on the same thing in 3months, as time goes on prices drop and newer more expensive things drop in.

why bother upgrading when eventually they will have 3D without glasses THEN i will jump on, who else is with me?
