That looks awesome
@Scrubs: this should be a real computer. And you should have a monitor on the table. And the processor should take up 3/4 of the space inside the table. Imagine the speed.... and watch it play Crysis.....
@blenderman345
Then you might just have a Surface-like interface. But yes, this should be a computer. It could be the media center for your living room, though wiring under the carpet/floor to the TV and Surround sound would be a bitch...
@Scrubs
It does look awesome. But when shortly reading the title I thought they were going to blend it, but was pleasantly surprised to find Optimus Prime's coffee table.
@Scrubs
I heard that this coffee table will be featured in Cosmo Kramer's new book!
@blenderman345
3/4 of the table? If you plan on heating your house with it then that's fine :p.
But I agree, if it worked it would be a lot cooler than it's already awesome state
@blenderman345
If it was a real computer it wouldn't be a sealed unit, then it wouldn't be too long before it looked like the inside of a real computer, which is pretty similar to the inside of a vacuum cleaner :p
@blenderman345 I read the sourse article, and this stuff is from the 80's. Not crysis material. :/
Looks like the animus from assassins creed 1
Looks like the animus from assassins creed 1
Beautiful! I'll take two.
Looks great but You can make this yourself with recycled computer material.
@Juggernaut408 and it will look 5% as cool.
@Juggernaut408 You CAN do it, but have you?
@Juggernaut408
What kind of consumer are you anyway!?
Spare parts table I love it
Damn that's sexy!
But can it play crysis?
can it play 1080p smoothly?
But will it blend!?
Anybody find any hi-res pictures of this? It looks like the creator's website's bandwidth has been maxed.
How hot will that thing get??
I would put that in my house. Sick looking.
I WANT THIS SOOOOO BAD!!! My fiancé probably wouldn't let me keep it though..../sadface....
does it come with matching end tables and a free set of lamps
"Computer's of Yesterday!" This early 1970's concept of a 'Personal Computer' didn't go very far initially since the coffee heating 'feature' would cause the coffee to actually boil in about 2 minutes of resting on the surface. After the prototype was ruined from the coffee, this build was abandoned.
That's pretty slick, but we need hi-res pics, pls.
I love it!!!!!
Want.
ive been saving up old dead or useless computer parts (mostly defective motherboards) for something like this. My original idea was to decorate my walls with it but that seems kind of dangerous so this idea is definitely on my to-do list!
He should slip a small eeePC nettop in there somewhere and tell people that it actually works.
@DTJ
That's an awesome idea. Is there a conductive surface that can used over a touch tablet that would also be waterproof? Imagine a touch tablet (or even two) set into this table that was usable and protected... That would be pretty awesome.
Nice!
Now if only it was actually a supercomputer!
Ha! Aunt Dottie won't be a "fan"!
That's awesome!... I'm not sure what it does but... it looks awesome!
I'll take 2 please...
am about to get my own place, one of that would fit in quite nicely
I hit the source link - no additional pictures...
@Peter Fox

from the Make article. unfortunately, hes been getting some increased traffic as his site currently throws up a 509 bandwidth exceeded error. too bad too, i wanted more pics too
Well I think I have an idea...
I bought 100 wide angle LEDs and have a few old circuit boards laying around :D
I would love this, my wife would leave me if I bought this table...
Wife approval factor not going to be very high on this item. =)
BORG have landed!
Beautiful, but won't you have to plug it in to run the lighting? I don't have any plug sockets in the middle of the room?
@LockStock666 it sucks energy right from the earths core, you don't have to plug it into anything
is that a 8 memory slot? (and 6 are used).
