Firefox Tab Candy groups your tabs, but that's just for starters (video)
Although Firefox already has a strong selection of tab management helpers like TooManyTabs, which gives you extra rows and memory-preserving options, or Tree Style Tab, which shifts things to a tree-based vertical menu, Mozilla has rolled up its scaly sleeves and decided to rethink the whole thing. Tab Candy starts off much like Safari's TabExposé, by showing you all the tabs you currently have open in thumbnail form, but from there it allows you to organize them into separate groups (with sub-groups promised for the future), which then act in very much the same way as opening a new Firefox window. Yes, it's folders within the browser, and it's all based on good old fashioned HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so no pesky additional downloads will be required once this Alpha-stage code gets added to Firefox's official release. If you want to give it an early spin, hit the source link below, but don't neglect the video after the break to see what else Mozilla is thinking of cooking up with Tab Candy.

OMG I CAN FINALLY HIDE MY PORN.
ok it was interesting up until 4:00 when he started blabbering about the plans for it. It just felt clutter and stalk worthy.
would love to see it come out as "subtabs" where the tab is actually clickable in one single window and it fans out into subtabs so you don't have to go into that window when you want to switch ideas. maybe name each main tab so in the window you have a main tab called "camera shopping", you click on it, and all of the sites you are looking at fan out from the main tab
Is it possible to turn off thumbnails and animations, those are a huge waste of time for me. Most of the windows are quite similar looking once you get down to the thumbnail size, so why waste screen space with thumbnails?. Also I am not short on screen space and I would rather save myself a click by accessing tab groups from a bookmark bar with custom icons/colors denoting the group. In short I think there are way too many new windows popping up on the screen to save time over navigating tabs with candy vs Firefox 4's dropdown list of tabs.
...zoom out again and we burst out of steve job's chest and bleed our acid for blood on your ipads.
It looks awesome. At first glance it seems like just a some kind of task manager that switches multiple windows around. But as he start to exploring the possibilities it becomes even better.
I'd like to see this combined with bookmarks and history - there's a lot of overlap when you start talking about "saving things for later."
Sweet. I need this in the worst way.
Reminds me of the Raskin.app for Mac where you can organize your files in a similar way: http://raskinformac.com/
looks really great but I am waiting for a stable release of this. I am impressed but unsure about this minefield.app
