The Engadget Show returns next Wednesday, August 4th with game designer Peter Molyneux, Windows Phone 7, and much more!
The Engadget Show is sponsored by Sprint, and will take place at the Times Center, part of The New York Times Building in the heart of New York City at 41st St. between 7th and 8th Avenues (see map after the break). Tickets are -- as always -- free to anyone who would like to attend, but seating is limited, and tickets will be first come, first served... so get there early! Here's all the info you need:
- There is no admission fee -- tickets are completely free
- The event is all ages
- Ticketing will begin at the Times Center at 5:30PM on Wednesday, doors will open for seating at 7:30PM, and the show begins at 8PM
- You cannot collect tickets for friends or family -- anyone who would like to come must be present to get a ticket
- Seating capacity in the Times Center is about 340, and once we're full, we're full
- The venue is located at 41st St. between 7th and 8th Avenues in New York City (map after the break)
- The show length is around an hour

@BlackedOut Hey Engadget,
You know what a lot of people have? Jobs. Jobs that end at 5:30 or 6.
This "come early to collect a ticket and then come back later" system is so unnecessary. You should just admit people starting from 7:30 until the seats run out and do away with tickets.
@EngadgetShow
I hope you don't have a 5-year deal with Sprint. Last time someone struck an exclusive deal with a single carrier, it didn't work too well in their favor...
XD
Can't wait to see it! Look forward to being there in the near future! I'd love to meet the guys from Engadget, especially Josh :-)
Glad you're back at Times Center again. Last venue was pretty lame.
Also kinda glad you're doing it Wed again because I just started working weekends. :x
Why is it always such short notice? I went once, and had a great time, but I can't just drop everything to head to NYC!
@clarinetJWD Short notice? This is in over a week
@Fail57
it's short notice if you don't live in NYC and you have to take time off from work/other activities to come out.
I live in NYC but work out in L.I. so this format sux but i'll try to come out this time, i'm mad I missed the one at cooper union.
I wonder if he will show off Milo and Kate?? Pretty cool concept, if not a bit freaky...
@IronLantern
this was actually asked on sentyouamessage on xbox live. They said the tech from the milo was going to be used in a new project for a 2011 release.
@nabberuk Thank God! It is good as a contextual thing, not as a standalone...
How deep will the integration between WinPho7 be with exchange and sharepoint upon release? If you could ask that when you all get into contact with whomever, that would be great.
@xombiii
mmm yeah. if you could just go ahead and do that, that would be great. mmKAY?
I hope one of those giveaways is an Epic 4G (Sprint, I'm looking at you).
@Dante of the Inferno
I'm also hoping for some epic Epic news... like an official release date.
@cr3amy
I had talked with the Sprint store reps a couple weeks ago. They said that the Epic is supposed to go on sale August 20th, if not the 21st. That matches Engadget's later Samsung-based hunch. I wouldn't sweat it, though. Since Sprint has already been hyping the phone in online ads and August is the basically the last month of summer, you only have a maximum 5 weeks to wait.
@Dante of the Inferno Reply fail. Sorry, thought this was a different article!
I'll be there again.
Awwwwww I wish it is a week earlier, this way I could of gone.
Is Anamanaguchi too busy to do music for your show? I mean, the Scott Pilgrim movie comes out in August, they did the music for the game, it'd be a great, if geeky (appropriately) tie-in.
Just saying... I like some of the chiptune artists you bring on, but the only ones I keep in my MP3 player of choice are those guys.
ITS CALLED THE WEEKEND! GUYS!
Prediction: Molyneaux will claim that Milo is a self-thinking AI and show off a pretty neat tech demo using Kinect, despite the fact that any intelligent person knows that a game designer cannot do what thousands of computer geniuses have been trying to achieve for decades: create a self-aware AI.
@Padilla7921
Molyneaux, over-hype something, dont be silly! :p
@Padilla7921 Molyneux has been very open about what Milo is from the very beginning. Back after E3 09 he said in an interview with Edge, "I’m not pretending we’ve cracked the hardest problem of AI; I’m not saying this is the start of Cyberdyne Systems. The key thing is that it SEEMS real. It’s a combination of some amazing, incredible research from Microsoft’s research labs, the stuff we’re doing and a lot of tricks. What he’s doing on screen creates this illusion – and I’m not pulling any wool over people’s eyes – the illusion that Milo understands and is sentient".
Here's how I read this headline - "The Engadget Show returns next Wednesday, August 4th with GOD, Windows Phone 7, and much more!"
Can you not let the debacle happen again? My gf and I were waiting in line at the opening time of 5:30 and we didn't even move and a woman came out and said all tickets were already gone. They had started giving out tickets at 3 for some reason and so we waited in line for an hour for no reason.
@DougB541 And I was the third person in line and the media/guests took the front row seats. I was 6 rows back.
@protolink Hopefully it was just cause of Jimmy Fallon.
@DougB541 That won't happen again. There was a major miscommunication that occurred, hence tickets being given out early. It was the first (and last) time it will ever happen.
@Joshua Topolsky Thanks for responding Josh. That's great to hear. Looking forward to the show.
Quality! I've been bored during my summer break, so this should provide some (brief) entertainment.
Can't wait to see how Fable III and WP7 are shaping up. :-)
Great giveaways for ungrateful jerks in the audience!!!
@Son Goku
So true. The audience was full of assholes booing people who won prizes during the last show. I hope it isn't as ugly for this one.
Molyneux.
Cant wait to Watch it maybe once i get the Money to fly from germany to NY to see you guys live you all awsome.
No ticket giveaways this time around (the ones where you text Sprint to have one held for you) ?
I am so there
Is there a way to get the engadget show directly added to your calendar?
@damian yep
1) go to calendar.google.com
2) ?????
3) profit
@Psyclotr0n I mean automatically ... like everytime a new engadget show is announced and a date is given it goes into your google calendar.
hope the music's better this time =D
Aug 4th. I think this is the date that Epci will be out. I just switched to Sprint, I wasn't given a date but was told that there is an announcement on Wednesday. Also this event sponsered by Sprint and then 20th Samsung want more Epic sold within 2 weeks out in the market to show off there TV stuff.
WP 7 YES !
If you don't watch the show you may get BALLS IN YOUR MOUTH. =)
What did they give out last year? I'll be showing up regardless.
How many people show up to these? How much earlier should I get there to get a ticket?
This show better be EPIC ;-)
