Apple Store goes down, get your credit cards ready
It's looking very much like yesterday's hypotheticals about Apple refreshing its hardware are about to bear fruit. The online store has been put on temporary hiatus -- presumably to get all those delicious new specs and pictures in -- and we can probably expect it to churn back into action around the company's typical 8.30AM timeslot.

I try to give you guys the benefit of doubt on the apple bias charges - the teaser announcements are the one thing I can't give you a pass on. When the products come out, you can call it news. Until then, its nothing but marketing.
Love the title :D
6 core AMD Mac Pros with caption inducing funny photos!
@POZ no, 12 core Xeon
@POZ
The 6 core opterons have been out too long for this to be the case. It has to be the 6 core xeons. Too much info would have leaked if that were the case.
ZOMG
MAC ftw
No engadget, my credit card is just fine in my pocket. It cries when it is used on overpriced Apple __________.
What about iPod Touch with retina display......?
@janusjaap
Wait for September. There's always an iTunes-related event in September to announce the new products for the Christmas season. I'd expect to see sites reporting invitations to the event some time in late August or early September.
@janusjaap
anything music related happens in sept
iphones news happens in feb and june
mac news is random
@Kelmon
Hmmmm, that''s gonna be too late for me. I woulod like to have one of those when I'm holiday........
However, not a bad idea though?!
please imac 24" with usb3 + esata.
Oh the wishful thinking of a Macbook Air upgrade...
I would love to see 30" iMac
I Hope we'll see a new bluetooth trackpad
any of you guys consider maybe Apple will finally jump on the Blu-Ray wagon? Being the entire iMac line has at least 1080p screens and Mac Pros are the highest of high end, maybe they're jumping to Blu-Ray on the desktop line? I find it pointless to bring it to their notebook line as of now because there is only one notebook that would benefit from 1080p and that's the 17" Macbook Pro with the upgraded higher resolution screen. But the desktop sounds more logical, especially with such high res screens and whatnot. It might be a complete stretch but I don't think any of you have mentioned Blu-Ray, which makes at least some sense in my opinion..
IPHONE 4 PRE-ORDER PLEASE! (im in AUS)
One would think that a company as advanced as Apple wouldn't need to shut down their website just to do something as simple as updating it.
@strommsarnac yeah but if u shut it down then theres gonna be LOTS of hype.
The fanboy wars are getting a little stale. I use a Macbook Pro and my desktop is Win7. Both of which do exactly what I need them to.
Mac OS X is great and I've never had a single issue with it, but since Win7, neither has my PC, Microsoft has made great strides with the new OS and I am really looking forward to seeing what is in store for Win8.
I've read a lot of these forums and thousands of user comments, and I can't say there has ever been one comment that has made me look at Windows or Mac any differently. Both are superb platforms, use your preference and be happy.
iPhone X with a new revolutionary internal antenna design!
Seriously I know they just updated the mac minis but i'd love to see usb 3 and the price to go back down $100... I'm in the market for one.
New iPad / iPod touch with camera!
@Jonnyboy123 YESSSSS!! i think the chance of the ipod getting frontfacinf camera is Huge! then u could have facetime with ipods, iphone 4, and maybe even ipads. its not like the frontfacing camera can take pictures so it wouldnt really hurt iphone sales.
The site goes down so that Steve can upload the pedo videos to the ftp. He don't like the wifis no more since the presentation.
Engadget is a gigantic add for apple bs. Congrats.
So what if its down, hardly newsworthy, oh wait im on engadget, my bad! let the -drama- commence!
It's on engadget because apple is a tech company, and they normally add new products when their store is down. And if it's hardly newsworthy, why did you read the article, and comment on it?
It's already up on the iPhone. New iMac. New touchpad. New rechargeable batteries.
it's already 8:36 and it is still down. : (
App store app shows something new prepared for today soon....
IMac, trackpad, charger......
If you upgrade the ram on the iMac to 2x4gb modules... it's an extra $400. If you upgrade to 4x4gb modules... it's $1000.
They're charging $200 to put in two modules?
What the hell?
The UK store is broken... looks like they did a rushed job ;0)
