Motion capture game teaches tween girls to avoid the come-ons of boys from the Metaverse
The University of Central Florida has been awarded a $434k grant to develop a video game for tween girls. The game, which is still in development, is apparently designed to allow girls to "practice" rejecting peer pressure from boys for sex and make outs. Of course, the only natural way to immerse the player in such a game is to put her into a motion capture suit, where her jittery marionette of an avatar is surrounded by the most diabolical 3D models of teenage males obtainable on that $434k budget -- if it was paid to Neal Stephenson in 1992. "It's a place to practice where there aren't any social consequences," says Professor Anne Norris, who is heading the project. But who will protect them from the psychological consequences, Anne? And will there be any escape from the meta-virus? Check out the unintentionally hilarious video after the break.

Why bother making the game? Just have all the girls wear those suits and that should do the trick.
girls could just stop shaving their armpits
Instant virginity-shield
@dhill0413 doesn't work in Europe :)
@HansImGlueck Not quite true. The French only make up roughly 8% of Europes population!
It was going so well, until the airstrikes Suzie called in never showed up.
DAY ONE PURCHASE!
Where's the game for boys? Teaching how to pressure girls and such?
The threat of eternal damnation in a lake of fire hasn't stopped them from hooking up for the last thousand years. In the middle east, women get beaten or stoned to death. If those don't work, I don't have much hope for the Virginator 3000.
why does that look like the child version of Ian Curtis from Joy Division
I shall now work on a game for boyz to help them get girls
@100rabh You need to call it "iAlcohol"
On a brighter note, this can help increase the number of lesbians in high schools.
wait, i was expecting the game to be explained then the video ended.
@trollOS - I don't like the word 'tween' Who the h3ll came up with that anyway??
Ah...UCF, my Alma Mater. How could you overestimate your own female students? You should make this game for them...not tweens!!!
In my experiences, the girls are the sexually forward ones... If you just have patience. So I don't see this helping much. :)
no way the reporter is doing what is simulated at 1:45.. looks like a rag doll
@Brokinarrow Oh man! Same thought! I hate the word "tween" as well, WTF?!
WTF is wrong with you Americans? What is so fucking wrong about sexual activity in teen age? Why are you so "purist" and "prudish"? Why can't you just simpy educate your kid "hey, listen, this is what CAN happen if you do this or that...", "see, this is a condom, here, have one in ANY case ANY scenario, just have it. If you find a girl that likes you, USE IT!"
Or something like that, instead of throwing a shitload of money on tech that wasn't fucking developped for this purpose to detach the kids from reality and realworld even further!
A terrible idea. Girls are actually going to think its cool to do it. Even when it's a good guy that comes along. Plus, they don't need help with this. They do it already.
What they need is a game to teach young girls how to behave sane ? Just watch them chase Justin Bieber on a segway. They are no different than boys once their circuits shortcircuit - like in that video. Prob worse.
Hopefully they didn't only only the rejects guys in the game, there are also those women on the opposite side too who are just as dangerous as the guys and even more clandestine.
How about teach your children how to say no and not be pressured into something you don't want to do, what ages are appropriate for that kind of behavior, as well as the consequences. I never had a problem with peer pressure. Just say you don't want to, and walk away, if they make fun of you, who gives a damn, keep going. Are parents that stupid today?
This is real news? It looks like something straight out of the Onion.
looks like a video from The Onion
So yeah what happens if the girl let's them on? Does it say game over or fail? Or does it get illegal?
This is BS! hows a kid supposed to get laid!!!!!!! x-D
