EVO 4G's Froyo features detailed in pictures, car dock coming in September?

We're not far from seeing this big update in the flesh, but in the meanwhile, EVO 4G owners (and fans) might be interested to take a closer look at the features they'll be getting once it arrives. HTC appears to have put surprising effort into rendering a lifelike torch for its Flashlight app, while app sharing (seen after the break) is a neat addition -- and don't worry, devs, it only works on items that aren't copy protected. We're also being told that the update has car dock-specific functionality, which will match up with a dock release somewhere around the second week of September. Has everyone decided what dark things they plan on illuminating with their EVO's LED once this thing goes live?

Probably the only pet peeves I have about android is lack of customization options for the People application. Hopefully if this isn't fixed in froyo (I doubt it is), that it will be remedied with Gingerbread.

Wow they did it, I had the hero before and this is quick. Also the video chat feature has been getting better. Plus sprint made improvements to the network. Upload and download speeds are about the same. This message is from my evo lol

Still nothing. Sprint shouldn't announce these things until the release day. 4 days have never seemed so long. And judging by android and there other false release dates. And lets not forget released for select users only

I just got off the phone with the sprint guy, he said that the Froyo update has been indefinitely postponed. Hope he's wrong... :(

I just flashed the rooted Froyo ROM from XDA. I tried running with the fps cap fixed, but that kernel broke the cameras, so I flashed the ROM's stock kernel back on. I miss having a "smooth" framerate, but I'm definitely happy with how snappy and responsive Froyo feels.
