How is this overpriced? Compared to a Macbook Pro 15 it has similar processor and memory, better graphics (leagues better actually), better display, and costs less.
I have bought a i5, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB SSD, 1600x900 display, for $950 with 30% Bing Cash Back. Best deal I've ever had. Too bad BCB is dead for good, but there are going to be other deals out there.
@CJisohsocool Yes you are correct about the specs, this hp has better ones but with a cheaper price. But it does run a stable operating system, you know the one with no viruses,crashes etc. so i dont know about you, but with my old pc, that thing would crash every week. i wouldnt want to go back to that
Only idiots get viruses lol. I don't even need to have any antivirus anymore cause I know not to click or download stupid shit. But if it works for you then have fun paying that extra $600 lol. Or you could like read "How to not fuck up your computer for dummies"
And for stability and crashes, I've never had a problem with Windows 7. Never once crashed.
@CJisohsocool Haha, thanks for the laughs, apparently u havent heard the viruses can be transfered as easy as opening a link from an email thats looks like its from someone you know. I got a lot of friends that i know, that have gotten viruses.

@Sil The tired argument about a stable OS and getting viruses is really getting old. I have been running Windows 7 from launch without a crash, and I don't get viruses. The people who get viruses are the ones who download random programs off torrents and looking for porn. Even the biggest Apple fanboy, Walt Mossberg himself says that Windows 7 is as good as and even beats OSX in some areas. So stop bring it up already.
@Sil uh ... the fact that you go to those websites and don't know how to protect your computer doesn't mean that the rest of us have your problems. I've never had a computer that crashed. Ever.
@Sil How about you read all of the great reviews Windows 7 had and actually try it before trolling. Windows 7 is very stable, since beta in fact, and the hardware and build of this laptop are at a better value than a similar spec'd MacBook Pro.
Haha. Windows 7 is quite stable. It's not Vista, which wasn't bad at all after 3rd party support improved and SP1. On the other hand, Macs aren't safe with viruses and "surprisingly" they crash. People could easily make one and burn the systems. However, why make a virus for 5% of the computer market when 90% means more effect? Sure 5% is a lot of people, but most people use PCs and thus better impact. Jobs PC vs Mac ads got more legions of iDorks to join on.
Macs can get viruses and can crash too. The only difference is you can't get free antivirus for Mac, or any antivirus, for that matter. So. . .watch out.
BTW: My PC has never experienced a full crash, the worst that happenned was it froze, but that was directly related to what I was doing (apparently turning off both of my free antivirus programs and then clicking everything like crazy is a bad idea. . . ;) )
@Fdo35 regardless when something happens like catching viruses apple quickly & simply says "you did something wrong, then says were not responsible for your mistakes" jobs is going crazy, a rich crazy old man.
@(Unverified) Not to mention that a lot of people use bootcamp now and as soon as they boot up XP/Vista/7 their Mac becomes prone to multitude of viruses that target specifically MS operating systems. Have you had your fill now troll? I would hate for anyone to go hungry. =D
@Missing Matter This computer has a UM processor, so, no, the processor isn't as great. Memory is the same but they both handle differently on both systems. If the GPU in the Evny is "leagues" better than the MacBook Pro than the CPU in the MacBook Pro is "leagues" better than Envy, while still maintaining better batterylife. Also, I have no clue where you got better display from, the reason why Apple never has to introduce better displays or speaker is because they are years ahead of everyone else.
I watched a conference with one of the guys from monster cable and he told a story how he wanted to introduce Beats technology into other products and not just headphones, so, he first went to Apple and Apple refused. Why? The man, himself, agreed, that Apple speakers are beyond those you'll find in other PCs. The performance of their speakers was far enough to turn down the added cost of the technology. Next, HP. Now, you can guess as soon as HP saw Apple's refusal, they jumped in. The speakers in the MacBook Pro are magnificent, but I think Envy's would be better, bass wise. Besides that, Apple keep a premium computer premium without doing things like this because they're already ahead.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Looks great, and for $1200 is a pretty good buy.
@KillaChaos and people complain that macs are overpriced..............
@KillaChaos
I've seen this and it looks good but the touchpad and OSX mean I'm going with a MacBook...when I get the money.
@Sil
Yeah because the closest spec'd wise Macbook Pro is $1800. So how about next time you look up the prices so you don't look like an idiot.
@Sil

@b0nes No one has mentioned BSOD yet, no comment?
@Sil
Or the radar tracer of death. That's the one where OS X tries to update iPhoto, fails and goes into an endless loop.
OS X isn't any more stable than Windows 7. Sorry, it just isn't.
@MarkAnderson FINE, i give up. say that theyre both the same.
@Sil I haven't bsoed at all. Is your argument that Macs don't crash at all?
@Sil uh ... the fact that you go to those websites and don't know how to protect your computer doesn't mean that the rest of us have your problems. I've never had a computer that crashed. Ever.
@trashk uhhh its also programs or internal problems you know.........

A Hyundai Genesis has better specs and lower price than a BMW 330, but I still prefer the BMW.
@Sil

@jaffreywali "A Hyundai Genesis has better specs and lower price than a BMW 330, but I still prefer the BMW."
I think the Infiniti G37 is more comparable, better specs than the BMW, not as expensive, and looks good too. I'd take that one any day over the BMW.
@jaffreywali
Unfortunately Macs are a far cry from the quality of a BMW.
@Jacob1
Well, the Genesis is much more reliable car, the interior is refined, and it comes w/ a Lexicon sound system (found in a Rolls Royce Phantom).
By that criteria alone, the Genesis is a much better value than your BMW 5-series (the model its compared to)
This is coming from a person who owns a BMW and has to spend a ton of money on maintenance.
You seem like the type of person who seems hung up on branding and image, something many Apple lovers cant let go of.
@kb24istrash Me? or Jeffreywali? I said I want the Infiniti G37 over the BMW 330i.
@Jacob1
That was directed to JeffreyWali
@kb24istrash Ah. Good then :)
@Jacob1
I'll take the Infiniti G37 Hard-Top Convertible Thank you very much.

Hey! I look for pr0n and never caught anything and I'm a PC!

@CJisohsocool
Lexus GS 350 here
@41yvne
That comes down to the not being stupid bit,
going on limewire and downloading "Jessica Alba nude.exe" is normally the level that we are dealing with.
For some reason people completely switch off when on the internet.
