iPhone 4 unlock available now (update: video!)

It's the moment that many of you have been waiting for: the Dev-Team's ultrasn0w carrier unlock for iPhone 4 is out. You'll find version 1.0-1 of ultrasn0w in Cydia on jailbroken devices. If not, just add the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository. It works for iPhone 4 baseband 01.59 and 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04. If none of this makes sense then you've got no reason unlocking your device in the first place, buddy.

Apparently it works (didn't try with other company yet) but one thing that I notice is that tethering is still blocked with the same message that tell me to contact my company. Anybody else notice something similar?

I travel internationally a lot. Does this mean that I can unlock the phone so when I'm overseas I can put in another SIM card? Is there a good FAQ/Wiki about the advantages to unlocking and how best to take advantage of it? I want to unlock it, continue using AT&T as my day-to-day carrier and then when I travel use another SIM card.

Advantages? You answered your own question in the 2nd sentence. Best way to take advantage, just use a prepaid SIM card when you're overseas so you won't pay an arm and a leg with AT&T :-)

its easy and very quick, i used unlockyourappleiphone. com
just take 5 minutes to unlock
