Yes its going to happen this time and "Ivan the Terrible" (because of a past history of blatant phone gimping) will announce it. Watch! But at this point does anyone really care? Many Verizon types that love the network and would have purchased an iPhone are all Droid'ed up and anyone that wanted an iPhone but had no network loyalty switched and got one.
Also doubt there will be much churn impact to AT&T because it is not as if their going to lose idevices completely. Mater of fact they will most likely get new devices first since GSM is what the majority of global operators are on and apple thinks globally. AT&T pretty much squeezed the fruit dry.
Could also see them running ads touting why their iPhone is better than Verizon's, iPhone by highlighting its simultaneous voice and data difference as well as the thousands of apps that rely on it. There will be signs to watch as the lead up to CES 2011 approaches (i.e. Apple buying (Qualcomm CDMA chips in bulk ;^/...
