Logitech's G700 mouse and G930 headset cut the cords, G510 chops price tag of primo keyboard parts
If you've already got a headset, mouse or keyboard, here's hoping they suit you just fine, because if they don't you'll be tempted to blow oodles of money on Logitech's latest gaming peripheral lineup. Today, the company revealed (and is launching) the G510 keyboard, the G930 headset and G700 mouse, and while the first is merely an amalgamation of solid peripherals that have come before (customizable RGB backlighting, USB audio, 18 programmable buttons, the whole nine yards) the latter two are premium wireless products. That's right, Logitech finally has an answer to Razer's Mamba and Microsoft's Sidewinder X8 with its own 2.4GHz, 1000 report-per-second hybrid wireless mouse (with thirteen programmable buttons on tap) and they've ripped the wires right out of the G35 surround sound headset to stuff a play n' charge battery and two 2.4GHz antennas on board. They'll run you a pretty penny, of course, at $160 for the headset, $120 for the keyboard and $100 for the mouse, but you'll find out if two of the three are worth your while later today when we publish our full review. We'll let you guess which two. Press release after the break.
Update: Logitech's got a breakneck video rundown of all the hot new G-series features; spot it right after the break. All three products are also on Logitech's website now, though the headset and keyboard are labeled "out of stock."

Still pricy, but still pretty great gaming stuff.
@DaHarder
Headset looks interesting.
Mouse is odd with 4 buttons on the side and 3 on the left button.
Keyboard looks okay I suppose. (Had to Google since Engagdet sadly didn't include a picture)
@DaHarder
I wouldnt use a cordless mouse for gaming but it does look like thats what its geared for. Too much lag and im guessing you would experience a bit a of lag with the headphones as well.
@DaHarder
I just can't get along with their new scroll wheel - guess I'm stuck with the (still awesome) g5 refresh.
Yeah, this is brilliant. More devices polluting the 2.4 gHz band. Ought to do wonders for your network.
Meanwhile, it's essentially impossible to buy a 900 mHz phone anymore. More pollution.
Common sense --
@James Or you could stop guessing and try to understand that todays technology isnt the same as it was in 2002. I have a wireless G7 mouse and it does great for gaming. I do not notice a difference between it and my MX518.
The G700 looks like a nice upgrade to my G7 :)
@sethmo
Actually i am not guessing about the wireless mouse. I have a g7 but I use my old g5 for gaming because i CAN feel the lag in games such as unreal tournament and counterstrike. Whereas I've never used a wireless headset for anything other than music and movies so I wouldn't know if the lag would be noticeable on them. And like it was said above the 2.4ghz band is way overused.
Happy with my G35 last month and loving the 7.1 sound. I still don't like wireless that much because I don't like waiting for something to charge.
Send from my g15 accompany by g9x.
@cdf74dc9
You can use it with the charger cable connected. I've had it for a while, and it's a G35 without the cable. Battery time 6-7 hours. Nice headset.
The G700 is pretty sweet. Prefer it to the Mamba and X8.
Looks like my wallet
*Puts sunglasses on*
just got a bit lighter
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I just bought a razer mamba and it is the best mouse I have ever owned, and I hope its the last one I will ever have to buy. This logitech stuff looks good, albit pricey.
@npa189
It won't .. the first thing that will go on your mamba are small glued pads on the left and right side of the mouse. That thing will start shifting and fall out.
Mamba is really a super nice mouse.. It's precise and using it is like your hand and mouse is floating. But for $129 I'm really not happy about the longevity of the product.
That mouse costs 1/4th my computer. Awesome!
Meh, I use my Magic Mouse for gaming, and it works GREAT!
Clearly you've never gamed with anything else.
@TheRealCJ
Cut him some slack. Mac users are new to this gaming thing.
@TheRealCJ
I was really hoping not to have to use the sarcasm tag, but alas...
G510 keyboard, G930 headset and G700 mouse... there is someone I would like to introduce you to....
and its name is Starcraft II.
I need replacement for my MX Revolution, but it HAS to have TWO scroll wheels like the MX Revolution. I can't live without the scroll wheel on the thumb! It rocks with it!
@nXt
I
@Ryan P
Well that was weird. Sure, only post the first character of my reply. That works. Yeah.
Anyway, what I was saying was that I love my MX Revolution, and dread the day it dies. Hopefully there's a suitable replacement when the sad day comes.
@Ryan P Yeah I have my MX Revolution still, but the battery isn't as good as before (Can buy replacements on eBay), but I'm getting miss clicks and double clicks very frequently now, and it's bugging the heck out of me.
@nXt
I have my MX Revolution for nearly 4 years now and I don't think I came across a better mouse since. the side scroll wheel is great, much better that the buttons its replacement has
Only problems mine has is that the rubber coating rubbed off and the battery life isn't what it used to be
@nXt
The micro switch in the button is worn. Happens with these mice. If it's under 3 years old, send it back to Logitech, and you can get a new one.
@nXt
I love my MX Revolution. Never use the side scroll wheel actually, and the top one is always click-to-click.
The padding is wearing off on the sides from extended use lol. That G700 looks awesome and might be my next mouse, either that or the Performance MX.
@nXt MX Revolution for me too! I've had mine for 3 years, and after using it once, promptly bought one for all of my computers. Brialliant mouse!
@(Unverified) I just contacted Logitech to RMA my MX Revolution.. after a few back and forth, they're unable to replace my MX Revolution, but offering me the new Performance MX..... oi.. should I take it? Like I said before, I'm going to miss the thumb scroll wheel... or should I deny and live with the accidental double clicks? :(
The headset looks too heavy but the mouse i want. My G5 is at the end of its days.
The headset looks great.As for the mouse, I am waiting for Mad Catz Cyborg Rat.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/04/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-a-guided-tour-video/
@nXt
I feel your pain man.
My beloved MX Revolution (3 years now) is getting frequent double clicks now. I can't used this properly on photoshop or lightroom. :(
The thumb scroll wheel is very sweet, especially when watching movies. (volume control).
I'm eyeing on the G500 now for gaming and photo editing, but I'll still keep my MX Revolution when watching movies.
As for the G700.. dunno yet.
@xValentine
I had that problem for a bit awhile ago, was hella annoying until it abruptly disappeared.
Crunchgear already has a review on the Headset
http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/08/05/review-logitech-g930-wiredwireless-gaming-headset/
And let me guess; lefties need not apply.
I'm going to guess that you'll recommend the mouse and keyboard. At least the mouse, it looks nice.
I'm looking forward to that keyboard. I love my G15 v1 and have been waiting for a replacement. My G15 keys are in pristine condition, including the LCD. What bothers me is its 'rubberised' area. It's now literally sticky and an ultimate dust/lint magnet. It takes some masking tapes to take off those dirt off the sticky part.
I really hope Logitech use a better material other than the rubberized thing-y that becomes sticky over time....
@Toink
Agreed. 1st g15 rev1 replacement! love the 18 g keys. I love the bottom 6 as an ergonomic wasd replacement!
HOLY POO
that keyboard rocks!
@dedparrot
That is a good wired keyboard but logitech seems to have given up on releasing any good keyboards with 10key that are wireless. I wish they'd make a major leap forward there - maybe even have it with a usb charger.
thank you, @counterglow. it's insulting that companies like Logitech assume that no left-handed person would want this mouse.
I want that headset and mouse. My G15 is still good.
