Motorola Milestone XT720 pops up stateside courtesy of Newegg
It may not look too appealing in the face of some of Motorola's more recent wares -- most notably the Droid X -- but if you're still looking to score that elusive Motorola Milestone XT720 in the US, it looks like retailer Newegg has you covered with an unlocked version (which they interestingly refer to as the "Milestone II") for $540. Sadly, there's no indication of the 3G bands supported, so far all we know, you're going to be brokenhearted when you discover that your AT&T (or T-Mobile) SIM tops out with EDGE data -- and for over half a grand, HSPA is the least we'd expect. Caveat emptor, eh?

Come on T-Mobile, release this already! Pretty please?
@Eric77lv -- I don't think they're going to, at this point; my guess is that it was planned and then scrapped... :/
Someone pleez buy it and let us know which bands it supports, thnx (if the GPS works, I'd take this over the Vibrant)
@pavvy Cincinnati Bell released this today, and they use phones that support TMobile 3G outside of Cincinnati. I'd think this would be the same.
If this has the 1900 wcdma band aka at&t 3g hsdpa then you should be fine on at&t 3g. Just call up at&t and confirm what 3g frequencies they broadcast in your area. The northeast is pretty much saturated with 850 and 1900. Down south its primarily 850.
I've been rockin the euro galaxy s on at&t 3g with only 1900 and I haven't seen the phone flip to edge yet.

check it there...
"3G
WCDMA 1700/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 10.2Mbps (Category 9/10)/7.2Mbps (Category 7/8), EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12, HSUPA 5.76Mbps"
looks like this isn't a NAM device :(
@hZSoul
ummm.. WCDMA 1700/2100 would be TMo 3G...
@hZSoul -- what are the implications of it not being a NAM device?
@pavvy apologies... I'm on AT&T... sometimes I forget about TMobile... not a fan boy, just doesn't suit me. Was hoping to jump ship to Android, now I'm still with my 3Gs for a bit longer...
So yes it is NAM, but not all NAM Carriers for 3G Support at least...
there you go its been on this site for months

@jul644
Whoa! that *IS* TMo 3G... how did this slip past EVERYONE...
@hfm i know what you mean i was shown that 2 months ago and that guy had it for a while already also theres another version that has the at&t 3g bands
@jul644
actually, though still exciting, I am bummed to discover it lacks keyboard of the droid/droid2.
I suppose it's at least an option for those that missed out on Nexus one. But i would rather keep my n1 and wait to see what project emerald is.
btw thats the one with at&t bands specificaly 850/1900/2100
@jul644 but not 3G on AT&T. Only TMo 3G, and all GSM Carriers will support GSM Data and Voice...
@hZSoul
ya i messed up im meant to link this one
http://www.newayci.com/detail/1084/Motorola_Milestone_2_XT701_NAM_3G_HSDPA_Quadband_Android_Wifi_GPS_Unlocked_GSM_Cell_Phone/
which is not as good but those 3g bands
If you buy this, are you stuck on 2.1 forever, or theoretically can root/upgrade?
Xenon flash!! \o/
Even it has AWS 3G, lack of 2.2 and only 256 RAM makes it loses its appeal especially nexus one is back.
