Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Samsung Eternity II hitting AT&T in the coming weeks?
You might remember that we'd said back in April that AT&T would be picking up the Sony Ericsson X10 in the 30th week of the year. Well, turns out we weren't exactly right, but it seems we're going to end up being pretty damn close. We're hearing that AT&T is lining up for a launch some time between the middle of August and the middle of September; smartphone data is required, of course, and it'll cost independent dealers $345 per unit (retail pricing is anyone's guess). Also launching in the same timeframe will be the Samsung Eternity II, a device BGR had mentioned back in June. No details on this one, but we'd assume it'll be a slicker, higher-spec follow-on to the original Eternity from way back in '08. Sadly, there's no indication these X10s will have anything other than the dusty Android 1.6-based platform they've been running everywhere since their global launch, so get ready to travel back in time if you end up cross-shopping this with the Captivate.

It looks good but apart from that the captivate trumps it in every other category. I don't see why anyone would pick this
@weeandystheman Captivate 5 MP camera no flash, X10 8 MP camera LED flash. Captivate tried to copy iPhone UI, X10 lets you choose stock Android or nice looking and innovative Timescape and Mediascape. Captivate uses battery door as part of antenna, not a good idea.
Samsung Eternity is a life lesson for me. A AT&T store clerk confess me to buy the this phone over the iPhone 3G. I end up hating this when I got the iPhone 3G the next year. The SE basically not worth it with all these good smartphones out there.
i own the x10i im using it with tmobile 3g it is a very nice phone .
@vec The X10i works on 3G with T-Mobile?!
@Haro NO it definitely does not in X10 nor X10a versions.
@isprobi yes the x10i version works with tmobile 3g here in USA . I just reply to you using my x10 :-) im so Happy with my phone.
@vec X10I specs HSPA 900 / 1900 / 2100, X10a specs HSPA 850 / 1900 / 2100, T-mobile specs 1700/2100 but t-mobile has only been deploying 1700. If your phone shows 3G on the notification bar at the top then I am wrong and you are right. If it shows E then I am right and you are wrong.
It took an Eternity II bring the Xperia X10 to AT&T. I'll be here all week.
Side note. I want the X10 but the lack of 2.2 is disturbing.
This phone is all sorts of fail. Android 1.6 and no multitouch (at the hardware level, they're using cheap screens). I have no idea why anyone would buy this over a nexus or anything newer.
@kufu123 Well the camera is better for the x10 and for some people that's important.
I've got one, never used it, wanna buy it? ...love my iPhone 4.
@webstarcool If you wanna sell it for 200 bucks ;)
