HTC Desire HD spotted in the wild with EVO-like form factor, Android 2.2 on board?

Well, would you look at that -- it's an Android 2.2 handset with a giant screen, HTC watermark and plenty of similarities to (though apparently no front-facing camera like) the EVO 4G. Could this be the 4.3-inch, 1GHz HTC Desire HD? That's what a Hong Kong forum claims, and we've no doubt we'll have pseudo-confirmation at some point soon given how quickly and thoroughly handsets are leaking out these days.

Mmmm, someone care to explain me why a phone with a 4.3" screen and all newest and powerful hardware does NOT have a front-facing camera? Why remove it? All 3G phones have had front cameras for years. Even the Nokias, with 2" screens and 12-key keyboards. Even the guys at Apple have realized that it's something people want...
And HTC and Motorola insist on releasing new models with no front camera.

WHY Can't they pick a button combo and stick to it. They keep rearranging the button layout. Its staying to piss me off!!

I'm on my third android model, and each time it has a new layout. Google, short this crap out!

You can already basically buy this phone today. Buy an HD2, and install the Froyo w/Sense taken from the Desire and found on XDA. Could have it done in under 15 minuntes.

Well it sure as hells as ugly as the EVO. I'd like to see some statistics on the weight of the average fandroid vs the weight of the average iPhone user. Why the hell are they still putting physical keyboards on these things? Fandroids are to fat to type on a touch screen?

Again... Obviosly some of you are skinny little albinos, but I'd be willing to bet sizable amounts of money that the average weight of the droid user is higher.

It's obvious you've never used an EVO. Though its on the big size it works just find and is comfortable as a phone.

@Indefinite Implosion Im on an HD2. For small girls their iphones are perfect, Im pretty sure my hands and phone are proportionally the same with my phone as theirs are with theirs... side note: why doesnt canada actually have any 4.3" screened phones!! I had to order mine from australia and hacked android onto it. That said it is perfect and i love it.
