HTC's dual-mode CDMA / GSM Android slider with 1.2GHz CPU headed to Verizon in 2011?
It's not expected to land at Verizon until sometime in 2011, but it's never too early to take a look at an unannounced Android slider with specs like this. Leaked by Androidswag, the device is purportedly hiding a 1.2GHz processor (would that be dual-core?) beneath that 4-inch display -- the sweet spot for size and pocketability. The prototype pictured above was apparently sporting a Vodafone SIM card making this a pretty bodacious CDMA / GSM worldphone by the time it lands for retail. Of course, anything, or everything, could change by the time this pup is ready for launch and we'll be here covering every step of its journey. Two more shots after the break including a size comparison with the EVO 4G -- a few more at the source link below.

@jlaudio27 Prototypes usually have a certain scheme to differentiate them. This most likely will not look like the consumer device...
Could this be the first LTE phone from Verizon???
@palomosan My money is on this being a "world" phone, much like the BB Storm/Tour is. Wouldn't that be nice though?
Reminds me of the Devour keyboard from Verizon... Is it also possible for this to be LTE too?
Why does Verizon feel the need to ruin all their phones with that hideous logo? Jesus if your gonna stamp it obnoxiously on all of your phones at least make it look good.
I know Im dreaming here but i was really hoping to read "HTC's dual-mode CDMA / GSM / LTE Android slider with 1.2GHz CPU headed to Verizon in 2011?"
Dual core with the same shitty GPU.
I dont like the keyboard or that it has touch sensitive buttons at the bottom of the screen.
It looks like the evo's older sister.
Whoa, that thing looks like my KIN Two!
Hate that giant verizon label. I only purchase phones that don't have a carrier label plastered on them.
Whats the point if you don't travel internationally? Verizon locks the phone and makes you sign a 2 year contract anyways.
@salimmk No they don't. You can do 1yr; best way to go in the time of phones constantly innovating, or month to month.
the battery life on this wont be that good unless its superoled or led or maybe that new screen htc was working on cuz a dual processor plus an lcd screen plus gsm and cdma radio doesnt help (natrualy gsm is less battery cunsuming than cdma and this is for verizon -_-) this battery will suck....i could atleast have more than one battery unlike gayphone lol
@cocopuffs
Most of the time, dual cores are more efficient than single core processors.
Did HTC forget how to make 5 row QWERTY?
The My touch 3G slide, the rumored G1 Blaze now this.
I miss the keyboards like the one on the Dream/G1 and Touch Pro 2
HTC is disappointing me.
Who knows, by 2011 these might not be very good specs at all (that'd be kinda nice, actually). I thought HTC had given up on slider phones by now, what with the Evo and all. We'll see.
And yes, dual core would be friggin amazing.
That is scary-ugly. I hope they change the keyboard before that ever gets released.
Love it!! Been waiting for an HTC device with a largish screen and keyboard; their TP2 is still considered to be one of the best keyboards ever put in a phone. I was/am still jealous of Sprint getting the Galaxy with a keyboard but now...and BONUS you can travel internationally with it. Perfect for me. I'll wait on my ne2 this Oct and see what comes out for the holiday season this year.
Am I the only one that likes the way this looks
Looks like the Verizon version of the Vision/G1 Blaze....I'll still take the Vision but this looks good.
Maybe this design is taking a stab at all those feature phones with this type of slider..
Between Verizon getting this ugly handset and AT&T getting the equally ugly mid-range Paradise slider, I think T-Mobile takes the cake on this one. The G1 Blaze looks sexy, it's high end, and it's got HSPA+. Unless this thing is packing LTE I think we already have a winner here.
@kenny goo it looks exactly like the vision/g1 blaze, it's just red not blue
@DDRobert
The G1 Blaze is black with a 3.7" display, an optical track pad, and a slide out keyboard with much larger, better spaced keys. This is red and black with a 4.0" display, a d-pad, and small, stupidly laid out keyboard.
They're completely different. Not even close.
I really need an Android CDMA / GSM device because I really hate the fact that I have to activate my BlackBerry Storm every time I go to Europe.
Ditch the keyboard and put in a bigger battery. I hate that just about every HTC phone out there uses these small cheap batteries. When you can go buy an aftermarket battery that is 30% bigger you start to wonder why HTC rips you off by shipping such a small battery in the first place. If their phones were cheaper than the competition I would understand it more but they're not. It's just a rip off.
Looks nice.
Android phones can react so much faster than the fruit-company. WOW !
I want this phone now. Great looking keyboard.
Man I sure hope Intel/Nokia have plans for a meego (maemo) device that's as powerful as this!?
Their release this yr is sounding more & more like it'll be "behind the curve."
So they really need to "step-up" next year if Meego's ever to get any traction over Android.
Plus they need to get serious about marketing *like now* for the n9 due out this yr.
They can't afford the same approach as they had with the n900.
That keyboard is way to small, the space is under used, the keys could be much bigger a la droid 2...
@Maxrunner
x2
The phone I've been waiting for from Verizon, i hope they push up the release date.
I want! must have
I wonder though if people would still buy this if the Verizon iPhone comes out?
