No FF camera? What is this thing from the 50's? What a joke.
@High Funniest comment i've read all day. You intended it to be funny right?
@High You should kill yourself.
@SoulWeaponry You must own a droid x right? I LOVE it how specs that are NOT on a fandroids phone are suddenly not a killer feature. Front facing cams are a big deal. Video chat will be huge in a year or two. Count on it
@sean4123
Video chat has been around Europe for years with phones sporting front facing cameras and you know what? Nobody uses it.
@sean4123 Soo true. iPhone people did it too before they had MMS and c/p. Basically we all learn to love what we buy or we take it back.
If it doesn't have it, we never needed it to begin with lol
No front facing camera and no 4G? No thanks. I'll wait for the Evo once I find one.
I'm already bored of the Droid 2, too much coverage can be a real turn off.
Doesnt look that blue to me.
R2D2 Where are you??
To me this is confusing - there is Droid, Droid X and now Droid 2 just in couple of months. Too many different versions and I agree - there is way too much coverage for it.
@hstewart Droid is dead Verizon stop selling them. The line up is as follows.
Droid Incredible- 3.7 in slate
Droid X - 4.3 in Slate
Droid 2- Keyboard
I don't know about you but I like options. So do the consumers.
@PathogenX
For each his own, personally I like a extremely flat phone that is smaller enough to at least fit in pocket.
Larger size - why not have a notebook, possible exception would be slate computer - but it needs to be able do more than just a smart phone.
Why would you want this over the evo, droid x, or the droid incredie? The keyboard? Seems silly to me.
I sold two of them so far :D
The keyboard reminds me of the Samsung Impression
where is my Froyo for iPhone port.
Seriously, Android + iPhone 4 Hardware = best phone out there in my opinion.
@rmbrown09
There is a short pier waiting for you to take a long walk on.
@rmbrown09
Why? All the current highend android phones have more impressive hardware. They design looks cool on the iPhone 4 tho.
@rmbrown09
Android OS would be a massive downgrade. I'll stick to my iOS and iPhone hardware.
I just looked at it at my local best buy I'm not really feeling it. I owned droid one since january now I'm a proud owner of a droid x. But I say ppl that are buying should be lucky that it comes with froyo which is sweet I ran it for awhile on my rooted droid 1.
I just came from a Verizon store and played with the Droid 2 for a while. It feels amazing and its super speedy! Although, we can't forget the original Droid that started this all...
Now, I really want to like this phone; specs-wise, it's pretty much my idea Android handset (unless the PSPhone is actually good). However, having watched the video over on Droid Life, I have to say I'm really not feeling that U.I skin.
It's not so much the look, as it is the lag. I mean, compared to recent high-end HTC handsets (Moto's main competition in the Android sector), the Droid 2's scrolling, touch responsiveness and menu transitions all seem incredibly jerky. Since we know the phone is both running Froyo and has a better processor, clock for clock, than any of HTC's phones, I can only assume that the reason for that lag is Moto's skin.
I was just at a Verizon store in downtown San Luis Obispo. The employee there took one out and showed me. He told me that they got the shipment an hour ago (which would be like 3 pm ish) and that he has already sold a few. He also said that they are allowed to sell them, but they just haven't been "officially" released. So there are regular people walking around with Droid 2s.
Not a fan of motorola hardware. They have a long history of building junk. I gave them a total of 4 chances to woo me with 4 different phones and they failed to deliver on all of them. Those are just the phones. I was also unfortunate enough to get stuck with a motorola DVR from my cable company. I'm on lucky number 3 of my Moxi Box.
Honestly the only thing I have ever bought from Moto that wasn't made of absolute shit was the Surfboard cable modem (also required by my cable company)
HTC/Samsung are going to be my go-to guys for Android handsets

Can SOMEONE explain to me why Moto thought it would be a good idea to make the phone BLUE?! Uggh. Ruins the device. Looks like I'll be waiting for the Epic.
@Engadget
Get us the goods on Nokia's N9 please!!!?!!
Wow, it looks so lame and last gen.
