Slink-O-Matic machine slinks your Slinky for you (video)
Start swishing a Slinky back and forth, shifting its weight from hand to hand, and it can be awfully hard to stop. But, sometimes you have work to do. That's when Slink-O-Matic comes in, the automatic Slinky slinker that will shift the metallic coils from one side to another all day long, if you like. It's the creation of Jim Sellers, is beautiful in its simplicity, and we're told also doubles as a hemisphere detector: the Slinky will "slink" from right to left in the north and left to right in the south. There, now you've learned your "something new" for the day.

Meh. Make an infinite stair step simulator for one and then I'll be impressed.
Escalator?
@Leindurstit Shit! I'm in the wrong hemisphere!!!!
@Leindurstit
I'm afraid the slinky will stop about half-way of the infinite stair simulator.
@Khalid Shahin
Slinky sized escalator? one you could put on a desk?
Fuck the Evo, I'm getting this!
Wow that thing is so awesome! I can finally watch TV AND Slink my Slinky AT THE SAME TIME!
That's so simple!! Can't beleive it wasn't made in 1990!! I'm sold
If I show this to my 6 year old he may want to make it in Lego to up the cool factor!
How unimpressive.
I prefer solid state slinky drives over this.
Great! Now if I ever wake up and forget which hemisphere I happen to be on, I can check without having to get up and flush the toilet.
... this is the dawning of the age of aquarius people.
