Lumigon T1 gets Froyo and a major facelift, makes glamorous appearance on Facebook
Looks like there are at least two things that the Danes can get right: butter cookies, and hyping it up for a delayed Android handset. According to Lumigon's Facebook page, what we're looking at here is the first official rendering of the T1's redesign -- quite a radical change here, especially with the new navigation pad and the now externally-accessible microSD slot. Apart from an earlier statement confirming Froyo for said device, this picture alone is literally all we're being teased with right now, so feel free to "like" the Danish company's Facebook page for some more forthcoming gadget porn.

Looks pretty sexy.
@angelusp
Hi my name is "angelusp"
please down rank me :)
@JojoMojo
wow its really slow here for the past 2 days on engadget....
@JojoMojo
except for the awful looking d pad. I'm wondering how that's going to feel like. Looks a lot like the garminfone
@JojoMojo
It's got a front facing camera. Only thing it's missing is a higher than WVGA resolution.
I can't wait till 2012 when I'll be able to get the ultimate phone .. 720p resolution and 4G LTE speeds. That's until 2015 when phone will have quad cameras for 3D (2 front facing, and 2 in back.)
@JojoMojo
Actually it loses some sexiness because of the size of that bezel. It looks like a early 2000's phone. They need to make the bezel thinner like most modern smartphones .. I rather the phone be slightly fatter than have such a wide bezel .. or make the display larger!
@StevenColbert
LOOOL...Are you for real? I had that video calls since 2003 on my outdated Nokia n70...xD
And back than I've already a good performance over 3g, don't needed a WiFi spot to make the call, and I don't even live in a very developed country, cause technology in Portugal sucks, but the iPhone 4, in the matter of video calling isn't bringing nothing new man, get real...
@JojoMojo
Sexy indeed. I like the design but I can't help think they could have made the screen a bit bigger by lowering those buttons at the bottom.
@StevenColbert
You must be smocking something funny and if you intended to be sarcastic then your undertone is undetectable. Please make sure you know exactly what you are talking about before you start throwing your weight behind a product that actually never claimed to be the first with this technology. Fanboyism ain't pretty but it's uglier when practiced by people like you!
@StevenColbert
You do know you have been able to do all that for years right? I think my old Nokia 5 years ago could do it all and had a very good SIP client as well. In fact my 5 year old nokia had better specs than the iPhone 4 expept for the screen res :D
@StevenColbert umm you ask a question and copy and paste a comment that forms the reasons why. With spin like that can you blame people.
@JojoMojo
Psh. The only mystifing thing about this article is the fact that primary source of unveiling an expensive product is Facebook.
Idiocracy. Ever see it? It's becoming a reality.
@JojoMojo The thing looks like you can cut yourself with it. I dont like the jagged lines or the horribly offset keys. I'll pass on its "style" thank you.
Jesus, bezel much?
@Hell Angel It's always slow on the weekends. Can't blame them for being slow cause who wants to work on the weekend.
@Hell Angel
news always slow on the weekend.
@Techtrino
Your 5 year old nokia had a 1ghz + processor? Any gpu? Accelometer and gyro? 512mb of ram?
How could I miss it?
@angelusp How dare you say that here, it's Fandroid world here on Engadget.
Just hope Google launches a new phone with Gingerbread. Nexus Two
@Cainhunpi
I really hope so too. I would love to upgrade my nexus to another plain Android OS phone that gets updated constantly with no limitations.
@Cainhunpi I doubt they are making a Nexus Two, what with the low interest in the phone, with the broader audience.
@Cainhunpi
I don't seem them making a N2 because N1 was for standard setting. They raised the bar, other companies followe suit, more people got to hear about android OS and that other manufactures offer great handsets with that OS. Now android OS is gaining great amount of ground. But I can't lie it would be awesome to have N2 that can maybe set the standards even higher!
@Cainhunpi I cannot fetch you a source right now and could be wrong, but I believe Google stated there won't be a Nexus Two.
I'm good with froyo on my EVO.. thanks but no thanks
@HustleHard101
This thing looks like the size of the EVO but with a 3in. screen. So much wasted space.
@ChrisSsk
I couldn't agree more. They need to stretch that screen top and bottom and we'd be talking!
Looks like a cross between an old Palm Treo and an iPhone. Not too shabby.
@rlopin you right though its not too bad but i love my iphone 4 and arent they having a revealing party or something for that phone.
@rlopin A cross between those two phones? but has sharp edges? Sorry I don't see it. This device looks good in its own way. Though I was more intrigued by the previous design they released for the T1.
and I'm glad u like ur iphone 4 @BallastatuzX.... lol i don't don't see why that had to be mentioned
thats not facebook lol nothing on their is remotely related to facebook thats homescreen lmao
@BallastatuzX
Thanks genius, they posted that picture on their facebook. I'm pretty sure we all know that isn't facebook. Why do people feel like reading the article isn't mandatory before making a stupid reply?
@LightShow shut the fuck up you dumbass bitch i bet you wouldnt say that to my face.
@LightShow
They like being on the front page one way or another, that's all.
very ThinkPad-esque design
but I don't like sharp corners on phones
they poke you in the face and rip your pockets :P
@NathanNFM you're one of those people who can't hold any sharp objects?
I'll leave you alone with your safety scissors.
@NathanNFM
Protip: the part of the phone you hold to your face is the big flat bit, not the pointy bit.
I don't like it, bezel is too thin... seriously though, is this an all weather phone or something? That huge space at the bottom of the phone just for the logo is kinda dated.
Too bad it is still just a rendering...
It seems like there is a massive amount of deadspace on the phone. It's just my personal opinion, but I think if you want to do things like this, you might as well make the best of the space and not make it look empty.
I'm honestly not a fan of how it looks. Seems to be a lot of wasted space. There are definitely wayyyyyy prettier android handsets out there.
Wait. people care more about the way a phone looks then how it performs? Wow Steve really did get a billion people to drink the coolaid. I got my HD2 not because it was sexy [it was] but what I could do with it. I will never be one of the sheep that believes form over function. I will always be a function over form which is why I will probably never own an apple product. EVAR!
@TheQuestor
Um...look at the size of that bezel man. Either it has a really small screen, or it's a gigantic phone.
@TheQuestor
Why not have both?
@n8equalsd Well ideally yes that the perfect balance. Just rarely happens. And I admit at first i kinda of liked the look. But then I looked again and looks like they are going the cheap route with a small screen and HUGE bezel. But it's "different" enough and if it has great guts and is cheap as the design suggests then why not?
@TheQuestor Notice, by nature humans usually go to what catches their attention and checks it out to see if it's physical and capability compliment each other. I highly doubt that you checked out the specs of your phone first before you looked at it. I think Apple is doing pretty well without your contribution to it's fan base :-)
@codepink actually I studied this phone for months before we got it on this side of the pond. To me it looked like any other smart phone in the pictures but when they said 1 ghz snapdragon and a huge ass screen I was like oh yah? what does it run? Winmo 6.5 I was even happer. yes people I like WinMo. Yup it's butt ugly but does some really great things. And when I saw it ran Touchflo 3d I was sold. Then I had to wait MONTH to actually buy one :( The fact that it is hackable was another reason I went with this phone. It's fun to boot into Andriod on this thing. I play on puttin WinMo7 on there too when it gets ported.
If the phone happened to be butt ugly would I still have been interested and bought it, you bet.
Hm..they really know to get the most of an older cellphone. It looks very nice.
It's a nice looking phone but it would have been admired more 2yrs ago. I'm with the others who feel there's wasted space on it.
@StevenColbert
Trash.
make the screen larger or case smaller. too much room in between
